.........The throttle sticking has gotten worse since the 1000 mile check, so I guess it has to go back in to the shop!

Regarding the sticking, the TBW throttle grip is free floating and shouldn’t bind. I’ve seen a few throttle grips that bind due to a lack of end-play or even a slight preload. Some folks squirt a little lube up where the throttle grip meets the switch housing. I recommend taking a pass on the lube and moving the switch housing and master cylinder down the handlebar until just a “hint” of endplay is present at the throttle grip. I’m talking about moving it just a “smidgen” (0.005” – 0.010”), don’t get carried away; just until you can feel the throttle grip move freely on the handlebar.

If you can’t, or would rather not fool around moving the switch housing and master cylinder that CH, go ahead and give it a little squirt of lube.

Throttle-by-wire...  I don't know if I can blame this new throttle system or not, but it seems that throttle control at slow speeds is uneven and unpredictable.  Example - a sharp right-hand turn from a stop seems awkward and tenuous to me, and I think it's because of the throttle response.

Is it just me?

Ed

Nope, not just you!  Rode mine for the fisrt time yesterday, noticed the same thing.  I put it down to the throttle by wire giving instant throttle response, unlike a cable type.  Slow right hand (equivalent of a left hand for you) turns seemed hardest to do smoothly.  Have to slip the clutch where I wouldn't have ahd to on previous bikes.

I don't know if you're bike has been tuned, or you're planning on tuning it, but if you tune it with a TTS Mastertune you can adjust the sensitivity of the TBW in one of the tables.  You can make it react very similarly to the cable system you're used to, or even more sensitive if you desire.  I think the new Super SERT will as well.  I have the TTS and with some minor tweaking on this table made it much much better.

Can you tell me which numbers you changed and to what numbers in that table? Thanks, JB

If I copy the table into an excel file and send it to you would that be OK?

I installed the mirror extensions Saturday - On Sunday, a 300 mile RTE (ride to eat) and my comment is that it was a huge difference.

Inexpensive, great change, IMO
