Cerrini's Harley in Rostraver, PA sold
« on: March 31, 2009, 10:53:53 PM »

I stopped in at Cerrini's Harley on Rt 51 in Rostraver, PA today.  They are changing everything around and they were bought out by Triple S Harley from Morgantown, WV.  Final papers will be signed in about a month, but they have already taken over operations.  Their new name will be BackRoads Harley Davidson.  National Road Harley in Uniontown, PA was also bought out by Triple S, but they will be closing that location in its' entirety.  For those of you that don't understand these events, both were owned by the Cerrini family.  The Cerrini's are now somewhere in the Carolinas where they are going into a partnership with someone in another Harley Dealership.  That's the info I got from a very long term employee there and from the new manager.  They are planning on keeping on the current staff.

That's all the big dealer news in Western PA for this season.  Last year it was Gatto taking over Spirit and renaming it Three Rivers Harley.  I've got my guess for who will be the next takeover by next year, but I think I'll keep that one to myself.

I know this doesn't mean diddly to you folks outside this area, but for those of us around here, it's big news.

Strange turn of events...the BackRoads Harley sign is gone and it's back to Cerrini's Harley again.  The employees are doing circles and I don't know if any of them actually know what is going on there.  Apparently, the sale didn't go through after closing down one of the stores, selling off all the merchandise with Cerrini's name on it, changing the floor plan, changing employees, and many other things.  I'm glad I didn't buy my bike there.  It's just way too confusing

Things just get curioser and curioser!  I wonder if the economy had anything to do with it or did the moco step in at the last minute??

I was talking to someone at another dealer today and I was told that the owner of the one store that was selling had a deal fall through where he was going to move, so he decided to keep this one and buy the other store involved, that was also in the family.  The entire ordeal still just doesn't make a lot of sense, but then I guess it really doesn't matter much to me either way.
