My guess is that the 103's would be the quickest out of the box. After that the displacement went up to counter detuning for emissions. When the wet motors come out I don't think there will anything to hide anymore. Hey the sooner the better.  :beerchug:  Doc

Fast and harley just dont seem to go together, unless it is a pure drag racong bike, and I get frequently reminded by my Hyabusa riding buddies, that harleys r not fast. I bought mine to look purty and b comfortable as I cruise down the road. I would have a 'busa if I wanted to go fast, but a fat guy in one of those black leather riding suits they wear kind of looks like a sausage that was stuffed to full. Not the look I am going for haha

Magazine article about the '07 SE Dyna (vs a VTX 1800) on the strip, both stock

Although it's not quite as crisp right off idle, the Harley manages 5 more lb.-ft. of torque at 3000 rpm than the 109-inch liquid-cooled, OHC six-valve V-twin in Honda's biggest VTX, and matches the Honda's 89 peak horsepower. Despite being weighed down by an extra 49 pounds of relatively modern engine and chassis technology, the quicker-revving VTX is also a bit quicker at the strip, putting a 12.20-sec. @ 105.45-mph 440-yard dash against the Dyna's 12.31-sec/107.08-mph best. Despite its deficit in terminal speed at the strip, Honda owns the short sprints as well, making the 0-60-mph trip in 3.9 seconds versus 4.2 seconds for Milwaukee's finest. And, as accountants and other overwrought anal retentives have been standing by to point out since the beginning of this paragraph, it hardly helps that the Dyna costs almost twice as much.

I had a 2003 VTX1800, while it was fairly fast, it still wasnt what i am on today. Even more so it sucked on long trips, no storage and uncomfortable. Not to mention very cumbersome when in stop and go traffic on that VTX.

1abastarsmda, I gotta hand it to you.  Your billions of threads sure do generate lots of comments!

By the way, how's your knee holding up?

I know how to create a stir, don't I?  My knee is feeling much better now.  I realized when I got done cleaning my bike tonight, that I wasn't in pain like I was.  I was still limping around early this afternoon, and somewhere in between, the pain magically went away.  It didn't go away completely, but suddenly it doesn't feel like it's a big issue.  I'm going on some long rides on Friday and Saturday.  I'll see how it holds up with riding.  That's when it all seemed to start...when I had my legs in the same position for hours at a time riding the bike.  Thanks for asking though.  In case you are interested, riding to #1 Harley in State College on Friday and to a winery in W Va on Saturday.  The more the merrier.

I appreciate that, but Friday after work we are driving down to Atlanta & Jacksonville to visit our grandkids.  I tried to convince Maria to ride, but she'll have none of that!  It would take away too much time from grandkid visits, and she won't be able to carry as much stuff to give them.  Sigh.  First good weather of the year, and I have to leave the bike parked in the garage for two weeks.
