The seat now has a different part number. Harley knows about it and has replaced seats.

I have the same issue, took mine to the dealer last week and he said he would order a new one, he called late today with some bs story about Harley saying it is cosmetic and won't cover it, when he realized i obviously would not accept that answer he told me i would have to bring it back so that he can take some pictures to send to HD. I told him i would email him several pictures and he said that he has to take them himself, when i asked him why, since he already inspected the seat personally, he blurted out some crap about harleys policy....this is my first dealings with this service excuse department and i am not a happy harley owner!

Doesn't make any sense to me either Dave.  A picture is a picture.  Others get one ( a seat) no problem and you have to jump thru all the hoops.  I know you will get a new one for sure.  Keep us in the loop.
