The Future Lineup at Mo Co
« on: October 25, 2005, 12:53:47 PM »

OK what's in store for 2007 and Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Lineup?
LOL - I know lots of the 2006 buyers/owners haven't even received their bikes yet

My take in 2005 the Mo Co re did the Sportster Lineup

For 2006 the Mo Co re did the Dyna Family Lineup

My guess for 2007 the Mo Co will re do the Softail Lineup
my reasoning behind this:
HD will need a new 2007 SE Softail as the SE Ultra is only in its 1st year of 2 years

LOL - What's your thoughts and what changes will we see in 2007?

Will it be the Softail or Touring Bike Family?
Will the 2007 have a 6 speed factory transmission?
Will a stock 95" or 103" be available?
Your thoughts if you like?

If the EPA continues it's strangleholds, HD is going to have to up the Cubic inches to around 160 or so just to keep the horsepower at 60. LOL

Seriously, HD is soon going to have to make some major changes. With todays regulations, air cooled, V-twin, pushrod motors just aren't going to be able to keep up.  Personally, a V-Rod type motor in a bagger with a little more torque for the weight wouldn't bother me at all.  :-/

1. Chrome that doesn't peel.  :(

2. Cam Chain tensioners that don't wear out pre-maturely. Better still go to gear drive (however I know it is probably a noise issue with the EPA).  [smiley=sad.gif]

3. If there is a problem with a part (as in the problem w/Detonator Wheels and Floorboards on FLHTCSE's then recall them ALL (at vendors expense) and have them reproduce with better quality control or switch vendors.

Oh maybe this thread was what we wanted new. I'm sorry I would like for them to fix existing problems they have before creating new ones.  :-/ Just my .02 worth

WEll if we use a series of deductions we could guess about the following.

1) There has been a CVO in every model family eccept the sporty........a screamin eagle sporty???

2) yes they redid the Dyna glides with the 6 speed, so either all models will come with a six speed or at least one more in the family line, common sense if it actually dictated would be the touring bikes before the softails, but we will see.

3) I bet we see an increase in rear tire size in at least one model if not the whole thing

and not sure about 07, but eventually the twin cam will go the way of the ironhead, the knucklehead, the panhead, the shovelhead and the evo and the whole line of bikes will some sort of v-rod type engine.

In response to someones input on a bagger model,, at the dealership in Gastonia NC they have a v-rod bagger with full fairing radio etc.......its pretty damned nice!

I was looking back in some of the previous post and came upon what's in store for 2007 HD models

Not to many replies but most of us had some thoughts that came to be in some form or another

Well the midyear dealer show has come and gone and in 6 months the 08 models will be out. Time to start in with the guessing game for what we'll see in 08. As I said when the 07's came out and the MoCo made major upgrades to the twin-cam platform, we are some years away from the V-Rod platform expanding out of the cruiser class. My expectations for 08 CVO is that we'll see another year of the SERK, and the introduction of the SERG2. I'm hoping that they don't put that gawd awful Ninja Turtle hump of a tour-pak on the SERG2 if they produce one. I know all of you with SEUC's love em, but I also believe you'd love em more if they had a hard shell King Tour-pak instead of the leather lump back there. JMHO so don't everybody get all mad at me or anything. eyThe SERG paint scheme should be interesting. Again, no offense to the SEUC owners, but the MoCo did not put anywhere near the time and thought into your paint jobs that went into the other CVO models. At this point, I'm not thinking of selling LD and buying an 08 SERG, but if the paint was killer like the 07 SERKs, I'd have a hard time resisting. And if they wheels were really nice to boot, that'd be it or me. By the way, Beags, if you're reading this, I promise to have the 10" Chubby's installed before I take delivery. I'll keep the Corbin this time so, it'll just be pipes, a SERT and a Doherty going on. Nothing to get brother Beagle's blood pressure up over. Anyway, hope springs eternal on the paint and of course the tour-pak as well. Past practice however dictates that an 08 SERG is a good bet. The SE Dyna's got another year to run, but the SE Fat Boy is done. What next for a cruiser ? Seems like it should be a softail model. The Night Train would be cool with a 110 motor and some CVO stuff, but the CVO's have always been about chrome and flash. The blacked out look would be a tough one. One thing I will say is this whole satin finish thing has run it's course. Check out the bikes that sit on the dealer showroom floor the longest and you'll notice it's the satin finish bikes. Word is out they're a bitch times two to keep clean and the whole dull idea is just - - - - - - - - - - well dull I guess. You know it's like rich food, more is not always better. But a CVO Night Train hmmmmmmmm what would you do beyond the motor and hydraulic SE clutch ?????? 240 rear tire  YES   reverse fork front end ? YES  Nice big black tach on a set of fat drag bars ? YES  Black anodized braided lines, hoses and cables ?  YES  Solid rear rim with red stripe around the rim and black center ? YES, 80 spoke front wheel with red stripe rim and black spokes ? YES  Yeah, they could make a cool CVO Night Train, but they won't. My guess is they'll come out with a CVO Heritage for the 2nd cruiser in the lineup.

I'm still predicting the CVO ServiCar.  And, like all the predictions every year, yeah; it's a rumor based on something real.  Something tangible.  And unlike all the other predictions I at least name my source.  This year it's a rumor stemming from the fact of the inferences taken from the runes cast by the kid that dated the daughter of the woman who was 2nd cousin to Willie G's pool boy's brother.

Maybe so D00d.  But they've ended up knowing as much as all the other made-up-gee-I-want-to-look-like-I-know-someone-or-something guesses that this recreation-rather-than-information topic generates every year.  Guessing is half (or all) the fun.  That's fine.  It's just the incantations of knowing that make me gag.  Sure, I know, someone really has read the meanings to be gleaned when the dust of the mummified corpse of Bill Davidson's belly button lint is cast against a quartering tail wind during high tide in a full moon.  But aside from that one guy with the lint available everyone else should just admit they're guessing.

Isn't there some software that deletes a post once it's been used 6 times already ??????????
