Just come on down here to Oklahoma City.  I can take you to sections that will make you feel like you're in mexico.  Then you can come back out for some relief and go back in to get more "flavor".

At one point in life Mexico was the vacation spot of choice for the Southern Calif. Crowd. But now to many drug related shootings, bad water, hostile natives and swine flu.  I don't see how its worth the risk anymore...Sorry

Nope, for all of the reasons already stated above.

 :sombrero: Definitely not under the current circumstances. If you go and get sick, you'll be left at the mercy of the local clinics, and if that's not a de-motivator, if this really gets worse down there, there is a possiblity that they will make it even more difficult to return to the US. Most airlines are relaxing their rebooking policies if you reference the current Dept. of State travel advisory, etc.

On top of all of the danger and exposure issues, Mexico isn't the bargain it used to be.  I took the fam to Cancun in January '08 and was stunned at hotel/drink/food prices.  The "cheap" stuff is still cheap, (trinkets and junk you wouldn't want anyway,) but everything else is about the same price as it is in the states.  That is, unless you want to venture off the beaten path, in which case you're really exposing yourself.
I don't see myself going to Mexico again in this lifetime.

 :sombrero:  Why would any American citizen want to send $1.00 to a dangerous, corrupt, foreign country?   :nixweiss:  It's about time we stopped shooting ourselves in our economic foot (and other places).  There are far too many beautiful, cleaner, fun, exotic places to go.  And... just check what motorcycle "insurance" does for you there.     :sombrero:

Well, We have canceled the trip

Probably best, I have a trip to Arizona planned for Mother's Day weekend and if things keep escalating I may not go.

Why chance two plane trips couped up with who knows what floating around and not knowing if somebody just came back from Mexico.

The next week will tell if this thing is growing or dying out.

Until today no cases in Washington and now we have at least 6.
