Switching from V&H true duals to 2-1 and Jet Hot coating
« on: April 28, 2009, 10:37:49 AM »

So I switched out my V&H true duals for a set of D&D Fat Cats (quiet baffle).

Along the way I took Henry's lead and went with the Jet Hot coating. Can't see any reason to have all the blues, golds and purples reflecting on all that chrome.

The Jet Hot looks great after two weeks - no discoloring. Now I have a nice even silver refection on the chrome.

But as far as reducing the temperature

I agree with not being able to feel the difference. This is an argument that goes on and on in the snowmobile forums also. I have had ceramic coating done on 2-cycle pipes to keep the  heat in the pipe and reduce the under hood heat, but the only thing it reduced was my wallet. It looks very nice and will last forever but as far as being functional it is very minimal. I now wrap my pipes with header wrap but on a bike this may not look the best. With header wrap you can literaly touch the pipe it works great. try doing that with your ceramic coating. Now maybe with the chrome covers on the pipe you may not be able to see the header wrap. I have some and may give it a try.

the above post is only my opinion and is not based on a single fact that I am aware of :)
