2 Weeks ago when I decided to "test" the map I had just downloaded I did a bit of WOT. Only took a few seconds to smell the burning oil and see oil splattered everywhere.
The dipstick blew out. Got home, put some oil absorbents under the bike and went back in the truck and found the dip stick.
I may have overfilled the tank a bit, not sure.
Anyway, with the level a little lower I was a little gunshy for the past 2 weeks, until yesterday. Another WOT entry onto the highway and the same result!
Only this time I was only able to find the chrome cap from the dipstick

Of course the dealer only had ONE style of dipstick in stock - the expensive one.
So - all I did to the bike was 575 cams, SE plate and oil pump (with fueling spring) and pipes - oh - and a Baker +1 pan..
I never had a problem before (35,000 miles).
Is this an oil pump scavenge issue?
The LCD cap "locks In'. With the cap locked in where is the pressure going to go if the cap doesn't relive it?
What are the fixes?
The Baker spout will solve the problem of the dipstick blowing out - but again, what about the pressure?
Fueling makes a pricey little vent that tees into the engine vent line.
