We got buzzed by 4 jets while riding, how Anne managed to get this one in flight from the back of a motorcycle moving down the road at 75 beats the heck out of me!

Some great shots!  Thanks for sharing your journey with us Chris and Anne.  Terrie and I are behind you just a couple of weeks.  What time are you hitting the roads in the mornings?  What are the temps when you start out each day?

It's supposed to cool down 10 degrees next week.  I'm hoping it stays there for another week........but probably not. :nixweiss:

JC
Las Vegas and Hoover Dam were just HOT all the time. It was around 100 while we were there. Once the sun is up it is hot around 80, then as it sets it cooled of to 80. We left Las Vegas for Zion National Park At 5:30 last night and arrived around 9:00. Not to bad when you are not in the direct sun light. I wear a light weight white long sleeve tee shirt I got at an outdoor shop, has UV protection too. Its great you can rinse it in the bathroom sink and it dries by morning. Also plenty of sun block and just stay out of the mid day BLAZING sun!

Hello Again,

I know this is a sore subject Chris & Anne, BUT...."WATER" is what you need in the desert. Pull over into the shade and get your bottled

water out of your saddlebags and drink a whole bottle.  Heat stroke will sneak up on you otherwise.

Still thinking of when I knocked the glass of water over onto you at breakfast....

I still feel bad about that.

Your friend Richard ( Cactus Candy Guy )

Richard is right about the water. You have to drink water constantly whern you are out in the heat. You don't know much you are sweating because it evaporates so fast! So pullover and have a drink and then have another!

I forgot to tell you all that we signed up for a promotion that Best Western motels and HD are running. It is a kind of rewards program you get points for staying at the Best Western and can build up for free rooms. We have always found BW to be reasonable in price and always clean.

Today was a Hike n Bike day. We started off taking the shuttle up Zion Canyon to the Lodge. From there we took a 3 mile hike, fairly easy, but rocky up to a waterfall and pool.
