Story of one bell, my nephew and his girlfriend comes up from Texas on his 07 Ultra in September and the four of us ( the wife and I ) do a week of riding and eating pizza. Last year they came up the last of Sept. thur the first of week of Oct. The girls had gone shopping and my nephew and I went riding. He gave me a bell for my 08 Ultra and he put it on the bike on the morning of Oct. 1, 2008. We did a day of riding going to four H.D. dealerships and were heading home, we were taking a short cut around Robinson, Il., I was leading when four deer ran in front of us, I manage to miss the first one, but T- boned the second one. Long story short, I cracked 7 ribs in 11 places, right index knuckle swollen, and some road rash on right leg. Missed 12 weeks of work, and bike had $12,500 in damage. When my nephew and his girlfriend went to look at the bike after the towing company picked it up, the towing owner said " Do you want the bell?" My nephew said no, it did not do its job, the tow owner said, "He is alive, isn't he." My nephew picked up the bell and gave it back to me in the hospital, the wife and I had the bike repaired and the Bell is back on "The Deerslayer" protecting me ever more.
