ughh...too dark to get a good pic, plus my camera software CD is MIA....I had to rebuild the system and I hadn't loaded the Fuji software yet...
I'll have to get the pics Friday when I'm off for the day. Plus I found where I'll put the horn. The Harley Sporty horn in black has a 3 inch bracket....I'll mount that on the crash bar tab at the frame neck. I just got in from the dealer and it fits perfect...at least on the FLHTC in the showroom...
Don - Here's what I did, but the pics will tell the whole story...
Removed all the horn hardware, cover, horn, and mounting bracket. What was left was a mounting grommet of course attached to the motor mount. The grommet looks more like a bushing though. It is a thick rubber washer compressed by a brass washer with a 5/16's(or so) bolt going through it. When attached to the motor mount hanger it provides a rubber mount for the horn bracket so it dosen't rattle. Anyway, I dremeled the bolt off to create a flat surface on the grommet. I think it was about a 2inch diameter. From there I took a 103 medallion, which is a highly chrome polished "disc" which inserts into the Paul Yafey(sp) air cleaner cover. I mixed JB Weld (Industrial Strentgh) and let it fire off about 15 minutes. From there I applied the JB Weld to the newly created flat brass washer then mounted the Medallion on it. I held it on with gentle pressure applied via small clamps...
Next morning....WOW....hard as, uh well,,,JB Weld....
I tried to get home this aternoon to take pics but ran out of time and then realized no software...
Stay tuned...
