Hi all

Me and the Mrs will be flying out west to CA mid June to spend some time with family.  While there we'd like to rent a bike and take advantage of the awsome Northern CA riding.

We'll be staying in Windsor at the Worldmark Resort, just a few miles north of Santa Rosa.

Can anyone recommend a HD Dealor that provides rentals in that area..?

Our other option is to Fly 'n Ride into Oakland and pick up a bike at Bob Dron's HD. The challenge will be getting luggage transported up to the resort. 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Golden Gate Harley  has two stores the one in Novato, Ca is about 30 miles south of Santa Rosa, Ca

I just went to the HOG Fly 'n ride site...  looks like a rental thru them is $100. Much cheaper than going directly to the individual dealors or rental places...  Gonna have to look deeper into this one.

Matt, are you setting a weekend aside to meet and maybe ride with the Nor Cal crew?  Let us know, we can give you the $1.98 tour.....where you'd get the most out of a day or a weekend ride.  Let us know what you'd like to see and we can arrange a ride to include it if time allows.

If not, we understand.  Vacations are always to short.  Windsor is a nice area just north of Santa Rosa and close to a lot......Russian River, north coast, Napa Valley, Clear Lake, etc.

Sounds like a great idea, thanks.  I'll PM you my information and definately see about meeting up.  We actually will have 5+ days or more to check out Northern Cal and San Fran.

We're making our flight arrangements later today. Gonna fly in Thursday night (11th) and hang out until  the (17th). 

I lived in the bay area many many years ago while stationed aboard the USS Enterprise when she was homeported there. I can't wait to return and get some real riding in.

I'll call Michael's. Do they have rentals..?  Their web site didn't look like they offered that service.

Just an update;  Looks like I have been able to find bike rentals at Oakland so far. Need to check out Golden Gate HD too.  The prices on rentals in CA is definitely much higher than over here in the South East...  But that's the price you pay for the beautiful scenery you get to enjoy 

Can't wait for this trip!

We're gonna wind up spending a couple nights (Friday & Saturday) in the Bay Area before heading up to the time-share up in Windsor. We're flying into Oakland.

Does anyone from the Bay area have any suggestions on where to stay (beachside) side preferred...  This part of the trip won't be MC riding... just hanging with some family before heading north.

Absolutely!  I have a bike rented and ready to go.  I just shot you a PM.
