:-\ :-\

So when is the best time to ride it??

We were thinking about late May through early June.

 :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

Like Doc said, it's a hit or miss as far as the fog goes.  But.........if it's foggy, that means you can stay in bed a little later in the mornings, go have a leasurely breakfast then head out.  Just ride later into the afternoon/evening.  It's still light out, pretty late this time of year. :2vrolijk_21:

As to best time of year for coastal travel (translation: warm), August should be the best.  Once the ocean warms up, the marine layer dissipates.

The surveys generally consider it the best ride for two up.

Yes!  Looking North near Pico Creek (north of Cambria).

Santa Rosa Road (east of Cambria) is a must see.

We can do a relay with them, Greg.  You So Cal guys can ride with them up to Big Sur.  We'll meet you there, have lunch and we'll take off from there and head on north.   :2vrolijk_21:

Intend on making a trip from Williston ND to Denver Co then over to San Diego. Then travel up the coast on HWY 1 and HWY 101 all the way to Washington. Anybody have any thoughts on HWY 1 and HWY 101?

You're new here, but this is how we roll, CVO style....well, at least the Cali style.  If you want some company along the way, let us know your Calif. plans, dates and time and we'll hook up. :2vrolijk_21:

Last July I listened to the Cali. boys and had a great trip from San Fran. north to Washington. In almost record heat I was surprised at how cold it is beside the pacific. T-shirts and leathers w/in a couple of miles. Unforgettable trip!!
