How does the chopped pack work for  your passenger? I've been told the backrest is still too low. I'm thinking maybe I could shim it up a inch with some chrome spacers? What do  you think? I have the mustang seat and it makes the stock backrest useless. I think the king is just too much. I like the lines of the bike. I also dont want that big weight on the back it has to affect handling.

Have had the same passengers on the same seat with both the chopped and King paks.  All three that have been able to make the comparison have much preferred the King pak and its backrest.  Guess some provision has to be made for the navaguesser (don't remember who I owe for that one, but thanks).  Only one actually hated the chopped pak's backrest after she'd ridden with the King pak.  But everyone liked the big pak a lot better.

'04s didn't come with a tour-pak at all.  I added a fixed mount king tour-pak to mine, along with saddlebag guards.

103thunder,

That is one fine lookin machine! Damn nice picture! Thats a ride to be proud of. What is it about the 04's that are so much nicer than the others? No offense guys!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

But then sure as the world some wanker will come along and take advantage just trying to maximize the advertising for the company.  And who in the world would want to look at something like this:

You guys are a bunch of dirty old men! ( no wonder I like this board so much!) That little cutie cant be but 18-20 years old! Pigs, all of  you!  Man, i got one for you guys, but I dont know how to attach a pic like that, when I try to add it in the message, it doesnt work, I'll try again though, because, have you all seen the smallest legal bikini yet? I have and you have to see it, words cannot express..........

I hope I didnt screw up, I was on Ebay looking for tour packs when I found one, chopped, brand new, spoiler, cushiion backrest, light. BRAND NEW NEVER USED  HD orange, for a 2000 SE Road Glide 662.00 includes shipping. I still have to get the rack though. Would've had to anyway. I can have the flames put on. I hope someone here can give me some advice on wiring.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  [smiley=pumpkin.gif]

CV, the wiring won't be a big deal.  The long harness that goes forward to the accessory connector in front of the battery should be connected to the light already.  So hopefully it's all inside the tour pak (unless the prior owner cut something).

Even if the harness off the spoiler light has been hacked it's still not a big deal.  Harley sells a cheap Y adaptor for the accessory plug that will give you all the connectors you might need.  Cut a couple of ends off of it, splice some wire in between, and you're back in business.

The spoiler harness is a one piece unit though.  So if you install it as Harley spec's it you'll have to take the seat off to be able to remove your detachable tour pak.  You can use pieces from that same Y adaptor to do a little splicing and make a disconnect that can be dropped right underneath the tour pak if you want to though.  Not a big deal either way.  But if the tour pak is detachable it's nice to have any connection to it detachable as well (without having to take the seat off first).

When the time comes if it's not all painfully obvious feel free to hook up with me or any of a bunch of others who've been there already.  Can walk you though it over the phone and with a few pictures.  You'll get it done  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

My fingers are crossed! It sure looks it in the pictures. That orange comes off almost red in all the pictures I've taken of the bike. I figure if it looks good I'll use it, if it doesnt, I'll sell it back on Ebay and how much could I lose? Usually I make money! I've bought and sold more things on there and made money. I really want to try out the chopped pack on my wife, she thinks we should just get the king and be done with it. I agree but like the look of the chopped. She told me to just get both, ( I do love that woman) but I love a good deal. Sickness, I guess. Thanks for the offer of help. I'll take you up on it when the time comes.

King Pak ruins the whole flow of the bike, for a minumal amount of added storage. Can't think of much else you could do that would look worse, but then some people put saddle bag gaurds on...

Now thats just mean.

You must not know DW6019. I have seen him actually have something good to say and have enioyed some of his threads. Then there is the dark side of him that is Ugly, especially when they come later in the evening. Don't know what happened to him but wish he would go back to writing threads people enjoy. I think he needs to be a little careful.  Seems he just comes around every so often and when he does, more often than not he is suffering from a bad case of diarrhea of the mouth.  Sometimes when you're sick and you barf, you feel better, and he seems to be very disturbed by this setup, so I thought I'd help his recovery by posting a photo of my bike with king tour-pak and saddlebag guards after I had the displeasure of reading his negative, flaming response in this thread. JR (and the several others who have written publicly or privately about DW),

Friends, you're all judging DW too harshly.  It's true, for reasons most of us can't fathom he has come across like an asshole all too often.  Rather than saying that he doesn't care for Kuryakyn his posts have all but suggested that anyone who uses Kuryakyn must be inbred.  Rather than write that the look of a King Tour Pak simply isn't his thing his posts have come across as flaming and disrespecting anyone whose choices might disagree with his own.

But folks, DW is a a CVO rider; so he must be a good guy.  Right?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  Unlike so many others I don't doubt poor DW's intent.  He couldn't have meant to come across as the asshole that he has.  I believe he's as good a guy as everyone else here.  In fact I think he's the victim in this entire affair.  His computer must be infected with the dickhead virus.

That's ok though.  It's not his fault.  That is a tough one to get rid of.  Some guys have it their entire lives and never realize it.  Being the comrades we are though we can help.  I happen to have the anti-virus for that partcular bug.  Being the kind soul that I am I will be more than willing to spend the time and effort necessary to help out a fellow rider.  From now on whenever one of our buddy DW's posts come through and it has been so obviuosly infected with the dickhead virus I'll run the anti-viral and straighten it right up for him.

So that you'll have an idea of the effectiveness of this anti-viral routine here is an example.  Suppose some fictional user named EW had the dickhead virus on his computer.  Because of this virus a post of his unintentionally came across like this:

"Round tires?  Round tires are stupid.  They make your bike look crap.  Your air sucks inside and outside the tire.  Anyone that would use a round tire doesn't know squat and their mothers dress them funny and their bikes aren't worth 37 cents and I wouldn't even sleep with their ugly step sister.  Round tires are for nerds and others I dare only disrespect from behind a keyboard."

That same post, however, when run through the dickhead anti-viral comes out like this:

"Round tires?  I've got round tires."

No thanks are necessary DW.  It's just what friends do for friends.  And please, if you don't think I won't have time to run the anti-viral from now on don't worry.  I'll have the time.

Your buddy,
Don

CVO, apparently, that tour-pak is off a 2000 SERG.  The orange on that bike is called VR Racing Orange.  It will not have the metallic or the pearl look that the orange on your SEEG has.
