I have an '06 SEUC and the right pipe is turning gold with 7,500 miles on it.  I think that it needs to be re-tuned. They have a nice sound but I bought the bike used with them already on.

They are single wall construction, with a baffle that necks the exhaust down about 6 in from the inlet end, a lean condition or prolonged idling will almost always discolor them at that spot. They are almost identical to Wild Pig Mufflers, the baffles are interchangable, They cost twice as much because most HD dealerships handle them.

Very likely the Wild Pig mufflers are made by the same company (EPI in Merrillville, Indiana).  EPI started out just making pipes and mufflers for other brands, and then started their own Rush brand.

If the mufflers are 3-1/2" diameter, the heat shields for the H-D Touring mufflers might fit and take care of that discoloring on the touring bikes.  Not sure if there is anything that would help the softail guys.
