This post should be moved to the bad paint thread so it can all be kept together. I an sorry for all you are going through and understand as I have gone through the same with my bike. I do have a update, but will have to post that later as time does not permit right now. Lets get this post where it needs to be so all the paint issuse problems are in the same place. There may be legal reasons to make sure we keep updated documentation on the MoCo's responses to our continued complaints.

The fact that it doesn't look the same from part to part and bike to bike must be the "custom" portion of the "custom paint set".  Much more exclusive that way.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Guys, I feel for you.  Many of us went thru a lot with the SEEG and SEEG2 paint (I'm still finding things on my SEEG2, and I believe Mobe has had every part on his bike replaced, some several times), so we know how you feel.  Just keep after the MoCo and don't let them slip you a bunch of BS.  I hope someone at H-D either figures out that their CVO paint process sucks and finds another paint facility, or quits trying to get too fancy and come up with a less ambitious paint scheme that they could do in their regular paint facility.  Regular production paint from H-D is among the best in the industry, so obviously someone there knows something about paint.

Done.  Let me (or another Mod.) know if there is another one somewhere.  It seems there is, but I can't remember where.

This is my latest paint situation. When I called customer service I explained the place where I picked up my bike is too far to be taking it back so they told me to take it to the local HD dealer and have the service manager verify the paint problem and have them call. I took the bike in and they agreed the paint was flawed. The service manager says she was going to call the person in charge of custom paint (Dave) that way she may get it fixed quicker. She said she would call me the next day. 2 days go by and I call and she is in a meeting so I leave a message. I call again the next day and she is in class leave another message. Finally that afternoon I get a call. She says she has spoken with to first dealer where I picked up the bike and says she got my file number and had called customer service and left a message and she should have some word back by Tues. Today is Friday and no call,  so I call to see whats up. When I ask for the service manager some guy answers and says she isn't in.  I explained she was supposed to call me back on Tues. He says she must have meant next Tues because she is in Wisconsin for some conference this week. I told him my situation and he asked if I was the person with the Autum Haze. I explained mine was Black Candy. He says he will give her the message. I wonder if they got a Autum Haze with the same problem? I ain't calling no more I am going over there next week. I want to get this resolved before riding season. She did mention they may want to take my tins off to send in for repair. That would leave me without a ride for who knows how long.

The regional rep for the MOCO happens to live in my home town.  I took my cycle to the local dealer (baught it 350 miles away) and they are going to "clean it up".  He will be looking at it this weekend or on Monday.  When I dropped it off the service manager said "that is how it is should look".  With fear of going to jail >:( I walked away and am waiting for the rep to look at it.  I will keep you all posted.

I just got off the phone with customer service and explained my situation. The lady I talked to says "Rob" is handling my case and tech support has been contacted. She says she will give him my info and have him call me back. One of the guys at the first dealer told me he couldn't see any problem with it. I said you got to be kidding. He walked away before I had a chance to tell him he was a dumb A$$. I was noticing on my bike the bad parts of the bike have swirl marks. I bet they tried to buff it out at the factory before it shipped.

You got to be kidding me, this gets better all the time, I called the cust service number  they gave me, spoke with a girl who listened to the info I gave her on the paint, she tells me, that the paint looks that way and it is a cvo paint job that they spend alot of time devoloping,  >:( and she does not what to tell me.
I tell her she must be kidding and that I want to talk with a mgr. She says she has to take my file to the mgr and after he reads it he will call me back.. what the F##K!  What the hell was her job?  She offered no assistance whatsoever, but yet she is a customer assistance representative.  If one more person tells me that I don't understand the paint - or it's supposed to look that way - I think I am going to lose it on them!!!
I asked her the same thing I said the other night, when you buy a car - you expect the doors and the hood to be the same color.  This girl has the balls to say not if the color is supposed to be that way.  Can't wait to get a hold of this manager.....

Well 10 minutes goes by and the same girl that I spoke with when I called, called me back and informed me that the manager told her to tell me to have my dealer fill out a PRB form on my behalf.  Now get this......  this form allows the warranty department to reopen my case and to be reviewed by a board other than the factory rep....  At which time, they will determine what should be the next course of action.  I asked her...."so what you're telling me that you closed my case assuming that I would take Harley's word on this is the way that the bike is supposed to look."  I asked her if her manager was going to call me back - like I asked before.  She repeated to me that b.s. about the dealer filling out a PBR form and didn't bother to answer my question.
This is total B.S.!!!!!!!!!!  Calling my dealer Now.............

Boy, you guys have got me really nervous!! I have a Haze that was supposed to have been shipped on Jan. 4th. Gee, this is the 13th and the dealer still doesn't know when it will be shipped. This is after two delays already. Now I'm wondering what it's going to look like when it does get here. You better believe I'll be putting the eagle eye on it in bright daylight. This is supposed to be our R&R, our stress reliever, our escape, not something else in our life that turns to $hit. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Hi electraglideclyde,
You can probably relax about your Haze. I have been reading quite alot on this site and I have not seen any problems with cloudy paint on the Haze. I was concerned some myself but my Haze was slightly delayed and the paint was great. The Crimson/Slate seems to have the main paint issues with some from the Watermelon.
In another section someone has said there is a mid season dealer show for the MOCO in Dallas coming up. I think that would be a great place for those with paint issues to bring them to the show and park right out front near the cameras and try to politely ask questions and get some help from the MOCO.
