Seems like that if the MoCo has already replaced some parts, they've already admitted guilt.  Have to wonder if it's really the MoCo, or the Dealer refusing to admit a problem to the MoCo?  Didn't one member already have no luck at his (selling) dealer, only to get the problem resolved at another dealer?

Does anybody that has had parts replaced recieved them yet, and how did the replacements look? These paint issues are not making me comfortable or confidant that my bike will be delivered with a new and improved paint job.

Talked with the Moco again explained that buffing had already been tried on somebody elses bike and it dosen't work. He explained that is what tech support says to do so it will have to be buffed before they can go any further with it. So I guess my bike is getting the grinder. called the dealer and they are making arrangements.

I am the one who allowed my dealer to take 1 bag to an Auto paintshop to buff some of the Clearcoat off.  The owner of the HD Dealership was beside him when they did it.  When they got down into the clearcoat  to the paint,,   the paint was still wet.  They took some of the paint off with there fingernail. So if it is wet,, and if it would dry eventually,, the paint will end up having fish-eyes in it.  I havent talked to my Dealer in a couple weeks,, but will call there now to see what the MOCO Rep has said about the problem.  I will post  what they say later...............

Regional rep was in and looked at the bike today.  He said that the MOCO wants to try the buffing before anything else.  So mine too is going to get the grinder.  I told the rep to be ready for when this does not work.  It will be done this week.  I will keep all posted to the results.

   I just talked to my Dealer,, and was told the MOCO Rep will be in tomorrow to see the paint job.  I am sure he has seen others like mine,, but my dealer said they were behind me 100% on this issue,, and they think the paint looks like  s**t!!!
   Will fill everyone in on the outcome of what the Rep has to say tomorrow ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

For those who have bikes with good paint jobs, can someone post some up close pictures of the paint?  (or are there pics already out there somewhere?)  Possibly a side view of the saddle bags, tank, or where the front and inner fairing meet??  Thanks.

A quote from Willie G. out of the 100 years Harley Davidson book-

  [In fact, I truly believe that our brand belongs to everyone involved with our company- the riders, dealers, employees, and enthusiasts throughout the world. And it is our job to carefully manage and protect our great trademark and everything that it implies. We do this with respect.]

He goes on to say... His son Bill is the voice of the customer.

Bill Davidson frequents the dealership where Puckowee bought his bike. So we'll see what happens. Maybe the owner of dealership can get Bill to check out the paint issue for himself!

I feel the frustration and B.S. you are all going through, and it pisses me off too!!!

Good luck and don't put up with any crap from the MoFoCo rep!!!

Met with regional rep today. He along with customer service manager and warranty manager agreed (with me standing by them) that there was a problem with the paint, on the saddlebags and outer fairing. They, dealer assuming responsibility with have a small section buffed to see if this improves the paint. Rep stated that if this not fix the problem, that he would take care of the items (Saddlebags and outer fairing). Also he stated that he was going to call the MOCO and take to head of customer service about the problem. 1st step, we will see what happens next???

HI all,   New here and am anxiously awaiting my 06 flhtcuse Black Crinson/ Slate to arrive.  Question for you all.   Is the Milky bad paint on both the black and Slate or just the Black color??  This way I know more what to go over and check more closely upon arrival.  Thanks Kel

KEL ::
   When your bike comes in,,  take a bright flashlight with you to your Dealer.  I looked at my bike at the Dealership when it arrived,, and under the fluorescent lights in the dealership,, I couldnt see any problem in the paint.  After it was delivered, and I read about the problem in the paint,, I took a 1million candle power light out in my garage to check the paint out.  There is such a difference in the lids of the bags,, and the bottom part,, as you have probably seen on the pics some of the guys have posted here,,  that I have no ides how I missed it at the Dealership when I first saw mine.
    I then took my big back to the dealership,, and had them look at it with a regular flashlight,, and you could still see the problem.  There is very little metal flake on the bags,,  fenders,, tank,, and  front of fairing on mine,, and it has the milky color to it.   I do hope your bike comes in,, with PERFECT MATCHED paint with all the painted parts!!  You will certainly enjoy the bike when you get it.
