I called the MOCO last week about when I was going to get my new paint. They said yeah you were supposed to recieve it in June. Let me check on it and I will call you back. I still haven't heard anything. Seems like the process for new tins is going real slooooooooow.

Thats funny, I asked the dealer whats up a couple weeks ago....they said the same thing to me, .."Your parts should of been in a month ago, Let me call MoCo and Ill call you and let you know whats up when I find out"...2 weeks later, havent heard back from her. So, while writing this, I called...she said ", I cant seem to get a call back from MoCo with an answer on this for you , they are usually pretty good about the communication on warranty problems...I dont know why they are treating this a little differently?, " lol....

Ok, Now, Im getting worried again.

Don't feel alone w/how MoCo is dealing w/warranty issues this seems to be a trend. One of the reason/explanations I'm hearing is they are extremely busy getting new production year stuff ready. My thought is heck w/new year; get the past years stuff correct first. [smiley=confused5.gif]

I was informed yesterday that HD was ordering new front fairing, front fender, bag lowers, tank, and side plates for my bike. I was told that the new paint process has been corrected. Time will tell.

Displacing...they've got the paint fixed....picked my bike up the first week in June, and the paint is excellent, so I think they fixed it on the final production runs....your new tins should be fine. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I have a 06 Blk Crimson charcoal Slate and have a great paint job.
The bike came in December after a two month wait for the factory to correct some paint issues.

Hey Bagger!

I truly hope you are right about the paint from December.  My bike was assembled the first week of March and it had bad paint.  Not as bad as some i"ve seen, but definitely not right.  I have new parts on order.

Have to admit I did not notice it until I had it a couple weeks and these guys here rained on my parade. [smiley=zwtf.gif] But actually, I'm glad they did.  Sounds like the new process is much better.

If you have read through this thread and know what we are seeing and do not see that in yours, CONGRATS BRO!

My bike has some paint issues and it was made in Feb 06.  I got a reference # in March and will deal with it this winter.  When I first approached the dealer about the paint I got the deer in the headlight look. Said they hadn't heard of any problems. HA!

Well...here's the saga:

So the problem has been known at the shop since April.  Harley had finally both admitted the problem and implemented a fix.  Others have not only got theirs "in the system" but also got parts back already.  And you've still been being given a round around just to say its ok to fix it?

That is untenable.

And it sucks too.

My '06 Autumn Mist is lookin' great.  I use Cycle Care Formula 33 Spray and Wipe polish and cleaner exclusively after every ride and I've never even had to wash the paint in 2 K miles!!  Bugs just wipe off.  All panels match from HD with no mismatched parts...and no fading.  I hope this holds up.  I'm more worried about the use of Syn 3 than anything else!!  HD44

HD...Welcome aboard!!!   I see this is your first post.  There is lots of good information on this site about polishing, waxing, oils, CHROME, engine upgrades...anything to do with OCD CVO.

The Haze's never had a paint problem to my knowledge...just the Black Candy Crimson/Slate color and some of the 'Melons...consider yourself fortunate not to have had this problem, though now it is finally being handled by the MOCO for those who have registered a complaint.  Glad your's is looking good!!!

You will find plenty of nice people here who love to help spend your hard earned dollars, so hold on to that wallet, as you will come up with more stuff you think you can't live without than you can shake a stick at....you just THOUGHT you bought a bike that had everything you need already there... ;) ;D :o
