While out riding yesterday and at an outstanding dinner and even better  [smiley=drink.gif], I received a message that all my replacement painted parts are in...now to do the inspection!

Only 20,815 miles later!

/bill

I guess I didn't know you were getting tins.  Glad to hear they are in.  Not sure where mine are but check regularly.

Hope yours come in like we all would like.

WFP... looking forward to your post-inspection report. Pics will be nice if the paint is good. Good luck!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Talked to the MOCO and they only agree to replace outer fairing and lower saddle bags. Spoke with John again and they he says it went as high as it can go "his hands are tied". I am going to get someone else to call them. Under most lemon laws you have to take the vehicle in more than 3 times within 18 months to file a claim. I qualify.

I dont understand why some get their paint replaced no problem, some of us have to jump thru hoops to get it done, some are getting partial parts replaced, and some are being told 'no'. Others are geting 3 sets of tins sent so far, How can they treat us all so diferently for the same problem?? Im still trying to understand why, the first go around, the area rep said 'no' period, and I got an answer from the service manager immediately, which then required me to go over his head to Wisconsin and they replaced them. then when this new set of tins are sent, and obviously screwed up, why the SAME rep is even involved, and now sending a report to MoCo, and he said, "You will get a call direct from MoCo on an answer".wtf??? Why didnt I get an answer then and there?,

I only want what I paid for, Will fixing our bikes correctly really hurt this Mighty Corporation???

One other thing 2up, if they fixed all the others, and sent all new striped parts, and also sent multiple sets of parts till they are correct for some of us, then they cannot treat any of us differently. That they even gave you a refference # and agreed to replace as many bikes parts as they have, is a pretty good indication that there is a problem here. Im no Attorney, but discrimination for whatever reason is a punitive award. I wont be sueing for part replacement if thats the route they chose to force me into. It will be because I have a spanish last name, and they treated me differently. I hate being discriminated agaisnt.

I have been making some calls. I don't think they have a leg to stand on we will see. I was told in May I would have all new parts in June. now its down to 3 parts in November? This is unbeliveable but I promise they haven't heard the last from me. I think they keep draggin this issue out with a lot of people to get them past the 18 month lemon law period. I am active duty Army and bought this bike while in the desert. I saved some very hard earned money to buy this milk dud. I'm not stopping until its right.

Nice... great way to treat our military members (and veterans as well). Sure takes a lot of joy out of the "Harley-Davidson Experience"  :(

I would like to put together a contact list outside of this website, of all persons that have '06 paint issues. Even if and especially if yours was fixed to your satsifaction or not. Reference claim #'s and phone numbers , email addys etc. And what Im thinking about doing is not something that would be fair to this website that we all love, to try and do here. We should however be prepared in the event that all of us are not taken care of. PM me if interested. I for one will not be happy that my bike was fixed and my brothers in the same boat were not. Also, Im trying to print this entire thread including pics, is there a way to do that??

Just got the call that most of my parts are in, I think missing the front fender and faring.  I will look at the ones that have arrived and not have an RO written until all parts are there.  I waited this long the MoCo can just wait til they have all of the parts there so the bike goes in once.

So far each time the bike has gone in it has come back with more problems than it went in for.

So what your saying is that they are discriminating agaisnt 2up cause hes in the Millitary?

Not really ... just a sh!tty way to treat anyone but especially a active duty guy that scraped together the bucks for the bike while in the desert fighting the bad guys. I was a GI for 22 years and believe me, it was hard to save money.

Which is why I try to avoid having the dealer touch the bike.

I appreciate your support, and thank you for your 22 years. I am at 16 years now. I normally do not mention I am in the Army but just wanted to let you know that this bike was not easy for me to come by. That is why I will not give up easily. I don't think the MOCO is treating me different because of the the fact I am military. I think that since I bought the bike from AAFES I do not really have a dealer and have had no support from the local dealer.

Doesn't seem to make a difference in some cases. People that buy from dealers (in some cases) get treated badly as well. Just ask the guys that have had to go out of state to get warranty issues resolved. To be fair, the other side of the coin is that there are some dealers out there that stand by their customers through thick & thin and earn their customers loyalty. The trick is finding that kind of dealer fairly close to you.

P.S. Hang in there... 20 is only 4 years away! [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] ;)

Mike,
There isn't a way to print (using the print button at top/picture below) the thread w/pics included that I know of. If you use the print feature in Internet Explorer (or other browsers) you will get everything you see on the screen, and probably only one, maybe two posts per printed page.) What you can do is print all the text (using the print button here) then go back and right click on picture and click "Print Picture...".
