Well guys, I got up this morning and looked at the weather forecast.  Today was forecasted to be the only sunny day this week.  So I went into work, put out the raging fires, called Rider's to arrange for inspection today, went home, loaded the bike in the trailer and took it to Rider's.  I just got home about 30 minutes ago.  I looked at all of the parts, and they look great at this point.  Date stickers indicate October and November 2006 paint on all striped parts.  Stripes are evident.  Everything lookes great out of the boxes in the sun.  Nice green sparkle.  I was just a little skeptical about the tank.......until I held it next to the tank currently on my bike.  The new tank looks much, much better than the old one.  From what I could tell at this point, all parts match, and they match the unstriped black emerald parts remaining on my bike.  So here we go.  I think this is going to work out pretty good.  I hope so anyway.  I'm also having my rear tire replaced, and I'm having the braided stainless steel fuel cross-over line installed on the fuel tank so it will match the other braided stainless steel lines.  Hopefully everything is perfect..........but I do know that it will be better than it is now.
Oh.........that melon at Rider's..........I looked at it again today, and it is at $1000 over MSRP, $32,995.  Stripes cannot be be felt anywhere, and even in dim light, you can see the defect.  It appears buffing was attempted on the tank.  They also have a red jester on their floor listed at $35,995.  Darn pretty bike, but................anyway, now you guys know.

I'm thinking that might be a bit MUCH, since I have that chrome cover over the fuel outlet.  Don't think it will fit with my current cover.  See picture.  I know, I know.  No such thing as too much chrome.......especially for the OCD infected crowd.  Let's just say I'm a conservative OCD patient.  I can always do it later if it strikes me.......but that rubber fuel line with the crimp rings, now that HAS to go. I wasn't sure about it either until I saw it on Don's bike. He did the HD SS lines and the HD cover. I got both lines and the cover too. I'll do the lines and see if I also like it with the cover. I like all  lines on the bike Braided SS, if possible. Looking at oil cooler and rear brake hose now! I got a weird kinda strain of OCD though! ;) Hoist! 8-)

BAR MINE! Good try, but do not take out of context. If you notice it said "like I do about mine". So the most you'll get me to concede to is that you think yours is best, while I think mine is! (Everyone here thinks the same thing with theirs, so none of it really means chit! ;D ;D ;D ) now enjoy your damn paint! ;) Hoist! 8-)

Just pickin' on ya Howie, so chill the f@#k out, Dude.  I know what you mean.  I just couldn't resist. [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]  Thanks, it does look pretty good in that picture, bad paint and all.  I've posted pictures elsewhere in this thread that show how jacked up it is.  If you look real close in that picture, you can tell the gas tank is hazy.  I get compliments all the time about how pretty it is.........of course, I always say thank you...........but it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.  If they only knew!
