Sorry Cigar,
I highly disagree! I want the Candy Crimson, and I want it to match! The way I ordered it in July, I do like the Haze and the Emerald, but the Crimson is what I wanted and ordered. If the MOCO only offered to refund $6K for another to paint the bike it would now just become another bike in the crowd, not a Screamin' Eagle. Wrongway

Wrongway, I was not in any way speaking for anyone else here when I spoke with the Rep, but I would also accept new Factory Painted parts that are of the CORRECT color and quality in the Black Crimson as well. I dont disagre with you at all, trust me.

When I took delivery of my '04 FLHRCI it had a paint problem on the tank. I went round and round with the MoCo for months. I eventually filed an online complaint with the Wisconsin BBB. That seemed to really piss them off and for awhile they would not even talk to me. They kept referring me to their legal department who would not  talk to you if you were not a lawyer. Then one day out of the blue customer service called me and asked which dealer I would like them to ship the new tank to. Go figure [smiley=confused5.gif].

Add me to the list! Took delivery last saturday of a blk and crimson and did not notice the paint diff on the saddlebags in the dealership lights. Checked after reading posts and sure enough my lids are different from the sides of the bags. Called HD customer service and got my ref #. Will take to dealer as soon as weather permits.

Welcome, sorry to hear that you got scammed too. Sounds to me like they havent fixed anything, and are still willing to let the things role out the door...amazing. you cannot tell me that they are that stupid to not imform the dealerships of this problem at this stage of the game??, We are all being jerked around here. I am ready to go to war, there are still a couple thousand Black Crimson bike owners out there who maybe dont know, do know but have accepted harleys assnine decision, and dont know that they are not alone. How many of us does it take before HD wakes up?? We need to find an ambulance-chasing blood thristy attorney who has paid 5k over MSRP for one of these. And get him on board. I am personally going down sometime in next week or 2 and at least filing small claims for now. Consumer affairs letters will also be sent. Any other suggestions on where to send complaints, stir up crap, and or cost HD $$$ will be greatly appreciated,...srry to all of those of you that have stock in HD...My wife and I also have a little of our 401k in HD stock....not to mention 60k worth of HD stock sitting in my garage right now.

Im wondering if it would be OK to put out an Advertisment in the Thunderpress, concerning the '06 CSE's and then if there are responses....I can direct them to here if they are interested in geting on Board??
Or The classified of every scooter newsletter or press out there??

Just got off the phone with the factory rep. The latest fix (if you want to call it that) from the MOCO is as followes. On 1/17/06 the rear bags were sent out by the dealer to get buffed out, this DID NOT FIX THE MILKY PAINT. So the factory rep came and took pictures 1/19/06 and agreed 100% paint is bad. So the rep stated today that the MOCO has a paint expert [smiley=nixweiss.gif] that is being braught in to take care of the paint issue by buffing out all the parts. Dealer said that this expert is comming from Massachusetts and he was asked to have all painted parts removed from the bike. Dealer reply to the MOCO is if you want me to strip all the parts off this bike just send new parts. I will be meeting with this paint expert at the dealer ship at 10am tomorrow to watch what he does. The MOCO is putting this person up over night to get the job done. At 10am thats when the work is supposed to begin. I will post follow up. Thinking about finding my own "paint expert" to come with me to watch what this guy does.

So is MOCO planning on sending this paint expert to every dealer?

After this "paint expert" buffs through the clear into the stripes without eliminating the problem (which he will), then what??

Suggestion to H-D:  give the materials to a real custom painter and let him paint a set of bags.  Then compare to the factory paint job.  Then fire the factory folks.

I thought we have established that Buffing will not fix this problem???, btw, my bag lowers already have swirl marks on them from the dealer before I bought the bike , so theres another admission of guilt that they knew about this ahead of sale time. My friend is a painter, he has painted for 35 years, everything from factory packs for  cars, to custom bikes mostlty now, I showed him my bike, and let him read the 90 something pages I printed out from this thread....he is Laughing his ass off right now at Harley "Reps". and anyone who thinks that this is fixable thru buffing.

The first pic is of the bike on display at the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in NYC in January.  You can definitely see a difference in the paint.  The rest are of my bike.  It's not perfect, a little hazy, but nothing in comparison to what some of you are dealing with.
