Obviously, they are banking on us not having any impact on their continued success, and they are probably right. Sad, all they have to do is not run just a few of the commercials I see all the time on TV now that springs approacing, and they would have the money right there, but instead they are choosing to take the Low Road. pretty pathetic.

mav7266  I know what you mean, you could ask him what color the sky is and his answer would be its suppose to look that way that the way the MOCO intented it to be.  He had a friend that rode with him and he was on a black with the bad paint as well and he had no problems with the way its looked.  I guess that is the reason he came along. To show a HAPPY HARLEY RIDER...

Bubba,

Apparently Keith Preist- Field rep has been coached by the MOCO. He looked at my bike back at the end of January. He stated then that the paint was not right, (with plently of witnesses) and told the dealer to order new parts. They have not arrived yet, and now I don't know if they ever will. So, he has been coached on what to say.
I have to try and stand calm, and not say what I really mean, but I am a little tired of the MOCO crap. Right now, I think if they want the bike, they can have it and shove it where the sun don't shine. Give me my money, I will go buy me a BMW.

Somewhere way back in this post I pointed this out about the striping on my FXDWG3, as soon as they knew that the gold stripes where an issue it became the "custom" nature of them and they started to refuse to change them out.  MoCo sent out a bulletin and refused to warranty any of them after a certain date.

This paint issue will go down the same F@#$%^g road, with them saying it was their intent to have them look like this. Custom is as custom does.

I Think we all have been fairly patient with the MOFOCO over this paint issue. It comes a time when talk is over and action is needed, not thier in-action. I think we are getting close that point. The more I think about it, the more p$$$ed I get. We all either own or work for companies or businesses that if we turned out a product this bad we would not be in business. But, the question for everyone, each individual is, are we going to be satisfied with the way it is, and except the screwed up paint job. That is the question, we all have to ask ourselves.

Mike,

I agree with you, I am also ready for war and I will not take any prisoners.
But the question for each individual, they will need to answer for themselves.
I am tired of all the MOFOCO BS.

If they sent parts to some customers, they better damn well send me some new parts, either in the Haze color, or the Black corrected color, or Id even settle for new parts un painted, and Ill have them painted right, but then I want the old parts for my trouble. They have allready admitted there is a problem if they :

A. Admitted it,
B. Buffed it out and it didnt work,
C. Sent new parts to some customers
D. Said that the big wigs are working on a fix.
E. Said it was the paint shops fault.
F. All of the above.

We will find the others at runs, shows etc. There are over 1000 Black Crimsons out there, the more we have , the stronger of a case we can build agaisnt them, Punitive damages would be SWEET!!! on such a large Corp. I think they are Stupid f'in idiots to screw over the guys who can afford one of their most expensive 'custom' lol, bikes.

Another thing that could help, is who ever is good at writing letters, needs to write them to the Bike magazines and newsletters etc. There are feedback sections in some, Letting them know how MOCO treats its loyal customers lately, and asking for them to investigate. Ive tried a few, but Im not the most educated person here.

Hey cigarmike don't forget to get local media involved too. Most stations have a consumer reporter to shine a light on customer complaints and bad company responses.Nothing like having a reporter catching a company big wig at a function like Daytona or Sturgis and ask him on camera "How are you going to handle your unhappy customer?" It also get his reponse on record to use later if need be. Most higher ups don't want bad P.R. Most magazines depend on the companies for test bikes and advertising dollars so I bet they would be less likely to cut their own throats.
Willie G and Jim McCaslin will be in Virginia in March for the grand opening of Bayside Harley in Portsmouth I would like to see some folks in the area with bad paint show up to have Wille G autograph their bikes and ask questions too. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Yes, I think its time to step it up, as of today the GM froorm Drons who said he WOULD call me after looking at paint and saying "No, the colors dont match" , hasnt given me the time of day, I have left mesages etc. for a couple weeks now. its time to go talk to owner. I can guarantee this Company or this Dealership will never see my buisness again if they dont make this right.

This situation is really starting to make me angry. I had a nice Victory V92C. It was a great bike at a great price and I sold it to one of my friends because I wanted to get a Harley. I believe this will be my last Harley if they don't make this problem with the paint right. I am calling the MOCO company in a few minutes to see where I stand. The last my dealer said was they were waiting on some guidance on where/when to buff the bike. I can tell it has been buffed already but I will let them do it because it is like them admitting fault when they do. >:(

Maybe there's a painter online that could answer why the MoCo isn't suggesting color/wet sanding and then buffing if they think it's a layers issue with the clear.

Then at least you could see if getting the layers cut down would actually make a difference. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I just got off the Phone with the MOCO. Talked to John (nice guy) he seems to understand the problem and states he wouldn't want a paint job like that. I asked when they are going to give my dealer the authorization to buff it out. He states that they believe buffing isn't going to help and that the MOCO is talking to the paint company who was contracted to paint it. The paint company is stating that they painted the bike in accordance with Harleys paint standards. So it sounds like Harley and the paint company are going at it. He says I should be paitient that the upper managment knows there is a issue and wait to see what they say. He says they could even say thats the way it is supposed to be. I told him I am about tired of waiting and would like to have a letter from the MOCO saying there is a problem and they are working on a fix. He says he is unable to provide me with a letter. I told him my paitients are wearing thin and I wanted to be nice about this but if I don't get some resolve soon I was going to take further action i.e. a lawyer, BBB, Lemon law. I reccommend everyone give a follow up call. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Or a new wheel.

Ok you guys convinced me that waiting till May for the Black/Slate is not worth the hassle. I changed my order today and will pick up an Autumn Haze the end of this month (March). [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]  This sure beats waiting till May for my Black/Slate only to find out that I would have to join in on a class action law-suit. I'm really sorry to hear of all the paint problems you guys are having and hope they take care of you all. Thanks for the many head's up.
If anyone still wants to take delivery of a Black/Slate in May, PM me a $1,000 refundable deposit with the local dealer will hold it for you.
