Hi CVOinLV,

As a regular user of CB, I noticed there is no LO-DX filter on this Advanced Audio radio.

That's Local or Distance filter.

When in LO mode, it pulls in strong local signals, preventing faint or distant signals from breaking in.

When in DX mode, it pulls in strong distant signals, as well as local.

Like I said, I can't find the LO-DX filter on this new unit, so all signals try to break in and interupt your com.

Too bad. For all the money this thing cost, they could have added a nice feature.

BTW, has anyone tried the Blue-tooth module or GPS module?

I saw the GPS...very expensive for 2 colors (green with black letters or orange with black letters).

Be interested in blue-tooth.

Anyone?
BobV (2006flhtcuse with a front-end wobble)

Yes I have both and I like them.

Found another problem with teh audio unit.  Anyone else noticed that if you stick in a CD full of MP3s, and select "RANDOM" it'll play random tracks for a bit, then (still showing RANDOM selected) just play them in  numerical order?

After reading my quote I think I need to learn how to write a little better.  Anyway nothing new yet, the dealer told me the following:

They think it will take as little as 4 weeks, as much as 8 weeks. They appreciate the patience, and will work as quickly and diligently as possible.

We're at three days short of the 8 weeks he mentions, Bruce - care to ask him for an update?  ;)

One of the reasons that I have been so upset with the CB and lack of any effort to fix it is that my girl friend just got a Street Glide and I had a CB installed, it works perfectly.
So I went into the dealership just yesterday ready to have a fight with them over my CB ordeal, next month would be my one-year anniversary with the CUSE, one year of poor or almost no performance with the CB. I was going to suggest that they replace my CB with a new unit and if that did not fix it then change out the antenna and everything else that is different from the Street Glide.  That’s when the dealership told me that the two units are not the same and they are not interchangeable. I was under the impression that the radios were identical and a CB module sits on top and plugs into the radio. The dealership told me that they have not had any problems with any other bikes that they have installed CB into just ultras that came with CBs.  So we agreed that they would replace everything, new radio, new CB, new intercom, the works and see if this will fix the problem.  I thought this was a good solution and I was satisfied but before I left the store some more phone calls were made and I was told that Harley would release a CB module next week for a fix to the ultras so I agreed to wait and see.  Call me a fool but I’ll let you know next week or sometime soon.

It's quite disgusting (but typical MoFoMoCo behaviour) how they have known about this for so long, and have made little attempt to fix it. No, if I was you, I'd have agreed the wait too, although that's only because I've only had the bike a month. Under NO circumstances would I have waited a year!

Can't wait to hear.....

Have you chased them since "next week" has come and gone, Bruce?

Bad news guys

Three weeks ago my son came over for a short ride, I had just finished washing, waxing, and packing the bike for a ride the next day to Twin Falls, ID and decided that it would be a good time for a break.   So off we go for an hour ride up the mountain, get to the Lounge (turn around point) and notice that the Harley shop called.  Called them back and they told me that they just received a new CB unit so we scheduled a replacement time.

Started back to home and got about half way when the front of the bike started to wobble.  At first it was just in the handlebars, a small vibration that quickly developed into a full left to right turn (tank slapper).  During the vibration I let the gas off and started pumping the back brake, this may have made it worse; I could now hear the handlebar actually hit the stops in both directions.  Each time the bike turned the rear tire would almost pass the front end the floorboards and saddlebags were dragging the asphalt.  I think that the forth violent turn caused the bike to slide out from under me.  Now I’m sitting on my butt going feet first down the hi-way at 65 mph, I guess that I was lucky to have the gravel on the side of the road turn me into a big dust ball and to stop me.  It’s the dust ball that my son noticed in his mirrors that made him turn around.  So now I’m about 100 feet from the bike lying on my back and I can hear the radio, so I get up and walk to the bike and turn off the ignition. The bike looks totaled and so do I.  I start to look myself over and notice that the back or rear of my Levi’s are folded over on the front of my legs, so my ass is hanging out.  It doesn’t really matter its pretty much just hamburger on the back of my legs from the checks to the angles. Arms are the same and the hands are missing the fingertips and palms.

I don’t want to preach but wear gloves; I was not wearing any type of protective clothes, shame on me.

Spent a week in the hospital and so far a week at home and today is the first day able to type with my right thumb, left hand has a pencil eraser taped to it for the shift key.

To finish the reply I have no idea if the replacement CB module would have fixed the problem I was having.  The dealership told me they would still replace it so I thing I will hold onto it for the next bike.

Oh, Jeez Bruce - that IS the worst news!  :(

Thanks God you are not seriously injured.  The bike can be replaced, but you can't.  I hate it when that happens to someone.  Get back to full health soon!

Bruce,
Sorry to hear of your accident. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Bikes can be replaced, but people can't.

Bruce, yeah, that's bad news.  Glad you are on the mend.  When you can, give us as much detail as you can remember, like speed when it started, straight line or sweeper or curve, road conditions... anything that might help all of us.
Good descriptions... made me hurt for you. [smiley=sad3.gif]
Heal well, friend.

Just got home from my daily dressing changes at the hospital and more fingers exposed, it’s amazing how fast the body heals its self.

I just finished a short hard right, a long sweeper to the left, then on the straight.  I was on the straight for at least 30 seconds before the wobble started so I don’t think the turns caused any problems. My speed was 65 mph when it all started and I think that I may have shed 5 mph before I went down.

I am trying to figure out what caused the wobble, it seems like a part probably had a complete failure, which started the wobble.  When I first bought the bike it seemed that it wobbled all the time that I was in any type of turn. I took it back to the dealership and they replaced the front motor mount and told me that many of the 2006 models have defective front motor mounts.  Harley went to a different manufacture and they were building defective parts.  So I am wondering if the local dealership would have replaced mine with a known defective part trying to use up their inventory.  I doubt it but it’s the only thing I can think of.

Very glad to hear you are on the mend. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I know it's your business and nothing to do with me so I can't explain why I am pissed about what happened to you. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I don't see this as an "accident" at all. I see dealer and manufacturer negligence. >:(

These ass%%les will get someone killed with their mediocre bulls%it.

Glad your ok!

BTW These heavy tourpacks we have cantelivered off the rear can't be helping the front end very much. I better stop typing now before rant mode occurs.
