I have to head to dealer today or tomorrow to get seat replaced, and while there, I may ask them, time permitting, to swap the 09 SERG head pipe with the cat to a stop 09 RG head pipe. Will eventually replace the cores with Fullsac and get the TTS, but time is short st the moment.

Will the bike run OK after swapping out the head pipe, without doing a tune with TTS, SERT, etc? Any negative Implications of doing so? I realize the tune will give more HP and torque, and am guessing it will run a little cooler as well.

Thanks,
Sam

It should run fine. When you get the baffles and tune you will be pretty happy.

The dealer is going to pull the cat head pipe and replace with non cat? Didn't think they'd do that.

your bike is already set way too lean, the catless head pipe will give a lot more airflow, which isn't a great thing in a lean state. you will need to tune soon. I wouldn't run it outside of the closed loop. somewhere between 2-4krpms. you aid would be to put a colder firing plug until you do tune.
this wealth of knowledge is based on how I was guided through mine when I did. so, this is JMO.
