There are 2 sets of mounting holes for the tour pak.  I have all of mine set for maximum passenger room and it seems to work fine.  Make sure that whoever installs it uses the right ones.

i have had the chopped tour pak and she didnt much care for, cant fit as much as you could in a king tour pak, i'm going the other way, for what it will cost for a tour pak i am buying a pod to pull behind the bike, ride safe

Yeah, the pad does compress a bit, but with myself (about 6'-1" @ 274#) and my wife (5'-2" @ %&@#), .....

I went with the King pak and a detachable system so that I have the best of both worlds---my daughter insisted on the rear speakers.
