None of that costs much Doc.  We can do better...

Hey Matt, here's a real one.  Get some LED bulbs for the trailer.  Especially if you do like I did and don't use the isolater.

...oh hell just order the Egyptian Package and have your bike painted to match. It was a real chick magnet in the 70's !!  Get it with the deep shag carpet though so you and Suzy don't get hurt.  :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: Doc

No part numbers, it's just listed as:
Retractable Tongue Stand------$59.00

Sorry, meant Doc's number for the Monroe air shocks that'll fit the trailer.

Part # ?

(Got to be worth keeping track of for future use.)

My trailer is the old Ultimate that was discontinued in the mid 80's. John said his partner at the time scored some discontinued shocks for the first couple years production and couldn't replace them after that, so he replaced his partner and the shocks after that. ;D  Monroe still lists a shock that is about right as far we can tell, but a different model number. I'll post tomorrow after I install them and let you know how it works. They were 100 bucks out the door.   Doc

Don,
Do you know if Bushtec includes the wiring harness for the bike side of the install with the hitch kit???

Yes.  When I got mine the complete kit was all the mount bracketry, hitch, pin lock, key, lock cover, harness and isolator.  It was everything you needed except the trailer.  The only thing I added to their package was that interconnect piece you saw on eBay.

It's something you don't need. It allows you to use the same bulb (two element) for running, turn, and stop. Your trailer has dedicated lights for running and stop. You can use a four pin connector for everything or a six pin to include aux's like air pump, inverter, cell phone charger...two extra pins for extra stuff.  Lou

It is something they'll sell you as part of the hitch kit and tell you it is oh so important that you use; but I don't.  It's a power isolator to isolate the power feeds to the trailer from that going elsewhere on the bike.

I've seen a couple of them fail.  They are a splice in only gadget without direct connectors.  It's a chore to get them as anything other than a messy installation.  Especially if you're using low draw LEDs in the trailer it's not a worry.  Or at least it's not to me.

Don,
The lights that I have in the back are 1156 or 1157 bulbs.  I have to think that they'll be bright enough. Does anyone make a LED replacement for the old 1156/57 bulbs that will fit (sorry, I know it's the latest fad, but I haven't kept up with the LED stuff).
