It would seem logical that that fan should cycle on oil temperature.

Jimp, that'd obviously be the ideal installation.  Not even have to think about it that way.  This supplier just didn't make the kit that fancy.

No reason one couldn't look up the parts for the thermal controls in the HD kit, order them separately, and use them with this fan though.
