The seat and bars suck, ergonomics are all screwy, I'll happily keep my '08.... but I'm weird so :nixweiss:

Hi All,

I went ahead and purchased the new "Blue Flame" 2010 SEUC and traded in the Ruby. Dealer treated me real well on the trade. Blue has a teal tint to it and looks great in person. Leaving for Branson MO for a few days of riding with the old lady. I will post a full ride report when I get back in a week or so.

Sorry, I tried to post pictures and kept getting an error report.

Are you saying that you traded in an 09 Ruby SEUC for the 10 Blue SEUC?  You had to take some sort of significant loss, so I'm confused as to what you liked so much better on the 10 vs the 09, that you'd take the loss.  I had the chance to see the blue one side by side with my Ruby and other than liking the looks of the new design on the rear of the tourpack, I couldn't find any reason to upgrade this year.  What did you see that the rest of us didn't?

Depends on how much of a loss he takes. The trade up to the 2010 may be worth it if the following upgrades matter to you:

- New Helical cut instead of straight cut 5th gear designed to get rid of whine that many owner's complained about
- New compensator design which should address any long term issues
- New adjustable lumbar support on passenger seat
- New color-matched LED wrap-around lighting on tour-pak
- New 12v power outlet in tourpak
- New LED lighting inside both saddlebags and TP
- New TP bottom liner
- New paint job (flames)

No guys, you see the same thing I do.

I know that the Ruby is a better looking bike; however the dealer is a friend of mine and I trade up for just for less than 12 % depreciation each and every year. I have had a new SEUC every year for five years straight for less than $18K (of course after purchasing the first one). Therefore, for me it is worth it to turn in my used bike with 10,000 or so miles on it and get a new one.

That being said, color and stuff isn't that much of a big deal if I only ride it a year or so. I do have to say (only after riding 159 miles) that this is a better bike in some way and it appears that the harsh bump is gone out of the rear suspension. It seams to have less mechanical noise, and have more power so far. Maybe they changed the torque curve or I just got a good one. The blue flame paint job does look awesome up close and in the sunlight; however, Ruby still blows it away. As a side note, my best friend traded in his 07 Ultra on my old scoot so I will get to see it all of the time.

Maybe I'm crazy, who knows?

Hi Andy,
I think you got yourself well sorted out. Unfortunately not many dealers are ready to develop such a long term partnership. I've bought a new bike for last few years each year, and it is always a great experience. Having said that, however, I do spend considerable time (and $$) on adding the little gadgets like exhaust, air filter, SSERT & tuning, and some bling. How do you deal with these items?

Ride safely,
Louis

Your right, adding all the goodies is always a must. Normally I just do minor stuff and take of anything that will work on the new bike. This year I left everything on the bike because my buddie was taking it. He paid me full purchase price for the GPS and all of the chrome goodies and I let him take it that way. If you play this game you have to realize that you really can't go overboard with the upgrades. I always take off the exhaust and air cleaner; however, I give the race tuner to the dealer so the new owner can tune it. In most cases I just lose the cost of the GPS fairing mount, race tuner and a few small items. I'm an gear head and playing with the bike is relaxing to me.

Been gone a while, Bought the 2010 SEUC in riptide blue and titanium dust. 950 miles later love the ride, wife loves the lumbar and heated seat. The paint looks great, with ghost images in the flames.

:2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: Two Thumbs up to you Cerdo!  Sounds like a sweet deal to me - new bike every year and if you have the time and $$ to do some upgrades each year that is a good hobby to have ;D.

Just wondering which year have you liked the best and why?

That's easy, each year is better and better so the one I have now is the best bike to date. Ruby was the best color / paint though.

In Branson MO, heading east. 10000 miles so far and the bike is flawless.

Glad to hear the paint looks better in person than on the web/in the brochure.  Blue is my favorite color and I really wanted to stick with that.  Looking forward to seeing one in person (hopefully next week!)

wow, talk about looking nothing like the factory photo..HD needs some new photographers... ???

Seriously - the pix on the web site look boring.  These shots are great!  Do my eyes deceive, or is there a flame pattern in the scarlet paint?
