Those are really good looking pipes---but the price--WOW :(

Yeah, I know, doesn't seem like anyone sells their "new and improved" mufflers for under $500 anymore...I'm going to stick with the basics.   :2vrolijk_21:  Should hopefully, have the bike back tomorrow.

My Cobra's will be here by the end of the week. Hopefully they will sound OK. Let me know how you made out.

So very true..

That is why for my 09 SERG, I went with Fullsac 2.25 baffels which sound great, then cut my head pipe in half at the cat, and removed 100% of the cat, then welded it back together.  Then I added the TTS Master tuner and map from Steve.  All for just under $500.  Much stonger than stock and sounds good.

Got the SESG back today with just the Vance and Hines basics installed and Super Tuner.  Seat of the pants fun dyno shows a marked improvement over the stock mufflers.  :) Nice kick in the pants now and it sounds like a Harley again.  Surprisingly, with the 2.25" baffles in the V&H mufflers, the SESG is more quiet than my SEUC with the true dual and oval mufflers.  Guess the CAT quiets things down a little, which is okay.  I like the sound.  Loud enough to know you're riding a Harley now, but quiet enough to hear the radio clearly at 80mph.  :2vrolijk_21:

Anybody know how the D & D 2 into 1 Fatcats compare to stock header pipe ( 10' SESG ) with the cat removed and fulsac baffles? Anyone heard the two, which one sounds deeper ( not louder but deeper tone more like the true Harley rumble) and which one will perform better? Just trying to decide which way to go before mine comes in.

My buddy (Just Us Six) has the stock headers w/the cat removed and Fullsac 2.25 on his SERG. I have Fatcats with the big boar quiet baffle. His sounds lower and more like a Harley. Mine is more glass a small block with glass packs. JMO.

Vance and Hines just updated their website for the 2010 models.  Their new header pipes will be available in October. They are also coming out with a new slip on call the "High Output Slip on" which will be available in October also.  They show it mounted to an '09 SERG and they specifically state that they are for the CVO drop bag look.  You can see them Here.

I agree - NICE looking pipes.  The price is a bit high, but I'd be willing to give them a shot.  Wish they had a "sound clip" so you could hear what they sound like.....

Hey Mike....I have a 2010 SESG Candy Concord myself. Have had it a week and a half now, and hated how quiet it was straight from the Motor Company. This is my 14th Harley, so believe me.....I've tried just about every muffler & exhaust on the market at some point & time. Still have my 2006 Streetglide with true dual Rineharts on it, and even though they sound good.....I wanted something a bit more mellow, but with a good deep Harley sound to them on my new SESG. I am running the Fullsac 2" inch CVO muffler cores in my stock muffler bodies....those big 4" stock mufflers look good on these bikes I think & the sound from the Fullsac 2" cores is AWESOME!! Nice deep throaty sound like a big block chevy, but not obnoxiously loud.....and at any cruising speed, they mellow out very nicely, making enjoying your stereo a pleasure. Am going to send my headpipe to Fullsac in the near future to have the Catalytic Convertor removed & purchase their TTS Tuner with Map already written & dynoed for this exact application. Check these guys out at Fullsac Performance & read what they have to offer. Rememeber.....loud does not necessarily mean performance. Fullsac is about mellow performance, and they've done their homework.

2010StreetGlideSE:

I just got exactly the same bike last weekend and recently sold my 2006 Street Glide the same color. Great minds think alike!!

For me, I really liked the sound and performance of the Reinhart True Duals with my 96" 100/100 motor. It all ran perfectly and sounded real nice.

So, I am trying to turn up the latest on the Reinhart addition to this 2010 CVO party. Bub isn't talking and the Reinhart retailers don't really know as much as the members here do.

The question I am pondering is whether or not to "preserve" the stock exhaust in tact for future resale or in case the EPA gets too froggy.

Also, the new additions like Vance and Hines will be configured to the 2010's so we can expect optimum performance....hopefully.

I sold a 2006 Street Glide to buy my Candy Concord SESG as well!!!. I installed 4" Cobra Slip-ons to save the factory mufflers and I am also leaning towards replacing the headpipe rather than modifying it. I am waiting to see what the reviews on the new V&H pipe are. I fugre that pipe should be cheaper than buying a new headpipe from the MoCO if the need should ever arise.

Just wondering..........I'm waiting on delivery for my 2010 CVO Street Glide - "Spiced Rum"....... Although I haven't heard the exhaust yet, it probably goes without saying, it will be pretty mellow........... Anyone have any suggestions on replacement?  Looking for that "deep throaty rumble" I have with my current Rinehart's.  Any chance of just putting "slip-on's on?  Just curious and open for any suggestions.  Thanks in advance  :beerchug:
Mike

I'm sure you have this figured out by now, but if not.... have you considered using the V-H dresser duals and the Klock Werks Revolver slip -ons? I've seen and heard them on a 09 SERG. The tips rotate on the cans and finish at the same angle as the bag. They are 4" diam like the OEM ones so they fill the opening well. Chrome quality is excellent (time will tell i suppose) and the V-H headers eliminate the Cat and work with the new 02 sensors.

I won't see my new FLHXSE until next spring , but i'm reasearching now. The big question for me is what tuner to go with.

ordered my new exhaust today none of the options I've seen fill the gap in the bags the way I would like.

So I ordered Vance and Hines Power Duals Head pipes and went with Boom Cans slip ons. These should fill the gap nicely.

Here is a picture on another bagger I'll post pics of mine when completed. I rode this other bagger and they sound sweet on throttle but go quiet during cruise.
