Bill,

From your choices I would go with the SESG since it has the bigger engine, 18's front and back, and the badass rear end...

If I were a FD guy, I'd be looking at the Ultra LTD, and not any of the '10 CVO's. That's the "bike of the year" to me. You need to first decide if you want another batwing, or a fixed fairing RG. If you want the RG, the '09 SERG's the ONLY option, unless you happen like the new standard RG Custom. Good luck Bill! ;)

Interesting poll Bill.  Based on what you already have and are keeping, I'm going with the SESG in spiced rum, also. :2vrolijk_21:

I 3rd that  :2vrolijk_21:.... Got one on order....... :)

Bill - Since you already have a batwing CVO, I'd be inclined to go the Road Glide route. The fixed fairing really is that good.  If you plan on keeping the bike for a substantial time, the 10 RX will allow you to build it your way and have a truly one-of-a-kind ride.  I'd would personally opt for a Black Denim RX, Night Train-like black-out treatment, tasteful custom paint enhancements, and a 107" build. Gonna end up costing close to the same as a CVO by the time your finished, but you will have enjoyed the pleasure of building it yourself and never worry about confusing which bike is yours in the parking lot.

It took me almost $5k to get my SERG mechanicals where I believe they should have been from the MoCo. Could have built a nice 107" for similar money.  Don't really want to paint a CVO so it continues to look like most other SERGs, which are beautiful, just not sufficiently unique.  However, they do maintain better value than a custom build.

Good luck with your decision, you really can't go wrong with any of the options that you are considering.

Hi Bill,

I voted for the spiced rum CVO Street Glide as that's what I would buy if I felt the need of a second ride besides the FLHTCUSE. Same look and feel but just a little smaller. I loved to strip down my Road Kings after the long trips and ride the same bike just without tourpack, windshield and the lot - still the same bike but not the big bagger any more.

I ride a lot of different bikes lately - and every time I change even between E-Glide and Road King it takes some time to feel "at home" again. So I would keep the differences between two bikes for the two up use as small as possible.

And I must confess I like the looks of the spiced rum Street Glide  8)

well, i stopped in Minteman HD yesterday...Anne and I were on the SED for a ride.  On the floor were a Spiced Rum and the Red Ultra.  Both were beautiful bikes.  The sales guy asked me if I wanted to trade up the SED.  My response was "if you sell me the Spiced Rum at MSRP I will buy it right now".

No go...he would not come down...wanted 3-4K above.

We walked out without a new bike.

Anne loved the Spiced Rum, I really liked it...but it did not have the "wow...I gotta have it!" factor that the 09 SERGs had.

So, if anyone sees a good deal on a leftover, speak up!

The 2010's are nice but nothing touches the 09 SERG in silver/black. I haven't been able to get LarryB's bike out of my head since Eureka Springs in May. Properly tricked out, that's the nicest HD I've ever seen and generally I'm a guy that likes bright colors. That bike is just the definition of classy transportation.

I don't like the Spice RUM ( I had a 1998 Heritage Springer 95 Anniversary, It was Dark Cheery. I sold it because it was Dark Cheery looks like Spice RUM to me)
My Name was on the Spice RUM that came in to my dealer, told them no, They sold it to someone from Alabama it was MSRP. He wanted Tequlia Sunrise - looks like my name was on that one + the Candy Concord
I am waiting for Candy Concord and waiting and waiting.

I know where there is an 09 SERG........brand new

Bill,
Obviously, I'm VERY biased on this.  Get the Spiced Rum SESG (I've nick-named it the Cap'n Morgan).  You won't regret it.  I got it and love it.  Even though it's a darker color, it "sticks out".  Your eyes are dawn to it.  The Gold leaf eagle head stands out nicely on the spiced rum background.   I'm a big guy and the seat is, so far, comfortable much to my surprise for a factory seat.  (do you think that Harley has finally gotten it right on seats?  :nixweiss:

I've never been a Road Glide fan, and out here it appears I'm not alone...every dealer I've been in out here, still has at least one SERG on the floor.  The dealership that I bought my SESG from is not even getting any feelers on the orange/black one they've had sitting on the floor for over 4 months now...Guess that's why they only did one year... :nixweiss:  :-\
