New Member Intro-- '99 FXR2/'08 Vivid Black RG Question on performance upgrade

Hello everyone!!  I bought my dad's '99 FXR2 seven years ago and have enjoyed every mile logged. Just recently I test rode a RG and fell in love with the handling, stability, and the comfort for the long hauls that I make every summer.  Would've loved to have a Titanium SERG, but couldn't afford it at the time, so I got a good deal on a used '08.  Even though I don't have a SE 103 or 110, do any of you have any suggestions to bump up the performance on the 96" without breakin the bank??  I'm lookin for reliability since I use it as a daily driver.  I am already impressed with the performance of this bike!!  Don't know if I'll ever ride the 99 again!!  Thanks for any inputs!
