Sapper, I not sure where you plan to have your bike delivered to, but I was talking to my sells rep at HD Louisville today about you and the bike you want and he said that if you have it delivered to Louisville they don't charge for setup. I think thats over $500.00 - But he said Mann HD may do the same. I thought I would just pass it along. Now here's the thing - All Dealer may do that?  Be safe my Brother.

Here is an update.  I've been pestering one AAFES dealer who I met in Kuwait before we moved up north as well as a local dealer at Diamondback.  The one in Kuwait said that he thinks that he should know something in Sept.  The local dealer told me the SESG's were not available yet and didn't believe me until I showed him this site that guys had already taken delivery.  So it will be a couple of weeks before I know whether or not AAFES has them and know what kind of deal they are offering.  They both tell me that they are going for well over MSRP stateside so I again refer them to this site.  Time will tell and I've got plenty of time.

Thanks you all for the warm welcomes and I look forward to some great advice on how best to trick her out when I get home.

I just looked back at old emails from my salesman and I got official word on 20 SEP 07 that I got my 08 SERK so you should know something by mid to late SEP.

Chris, Thanks for the catalog, I'll let you know when it gets here.  I appreciate you checking into the .  I did as you suggested and tried to reach Indy West HD, which is closer to me and requested a catalog, but I have not heard back yet.  Mann's is closest to the unit. Not that it matters because I would work with either.  Mann's probably does the most work with soldiers though because it is right next to post, and I believe they've done more Exchange (AAFES) deliveries than most of the other dealers.  Louisville's not too far either for that matter.  There's also southside HD who I've not tried to contact yet.

Thanks.

Well I have been working with the AAFES/ENCS sales agents to try to secure my ride.  BLUF: I'll have to wait longer.  There are apparently several allocations which take place throughout the year.  If you are wanting to take delivery later in the year or early next year you can be passed over for one of the earlier allocations.  I had set up my delivery date for May 2010.  I believe the first allocation has come and gone already and I have been passed up.  I've spoken to my sales agent to tell them that I would take delivery earlier and would now accept either the Candy Concord or the Tequila Sunrise.  If I accept delivery earlier I just have to start making payments while I'm here which kind of stinks but at least I'll have the ride.  Also I'll have to have someone else go pick it up which I think I can convince Dad without twisting his arm.  My Pop saw the Grape in Cincinnati and was blown away.  Says I have to get this bike.  I said that was what I've been trying to tell him!

The good news:  An email from the rep said:
"At the moment, I am unable to provide a a quote as we do not have
stock of the same. However the price for a
CVO Street Glide in Tequila Sunrise is $28,968.00. I will be able to
confirm the pricing only after a bike has been allocated.

Please be assured, as soon as we receive an allocation of the CVO, I
will be back in touch with an update."

Missions are picking up and I have much less time to hang around, but that makes the time go by a lot faster.
Out here.

Bought my SERG earlier this year from AAFES here in Japan. Had orders to HAwaii when I closed the deal and those orders got cancelled, so I had to fly home take delivery, rode it 1200 miles in 3 days, and then tucked it away on a battery tender in my mom's garage until Jan when I head back to the States. So I know how much it sucks to shell out the dough each month and not get to ride'er... but trust me, it'll be worth the wait to get the ride you want!!

Stay safe, close the deal, and get home to that bike in one piece!!
