Harley training wheels????
« on: August 16, 2009, 08:43:12 PM »

First I have to say "God Bless America".  Only in America can can an average guy/girl get a crazy idea, develop it, market it, and if enough people buy it, retire in a mansion with a Rolls Royce and float in his pool thinking of the next crazy idea.  Somehow I don't this product is gonna  have that result for the inventor.   But I have been wrong before...actually quite a few times.

This is just plain crazy....

Could be good for a disabled guy, as it could allow him to continue riding when maybe he ordinarily couldn't. I saw a homemade version 10 years ago on the way to Sturgis. The guy made it himself. Converted to ALL hand control too. He had no legs, and carried a wheelchair on the bike. I admired how a guy like that managed to stay in the wind, and continued to do what he loved! I'll never forget it! :2vrolijk_21: ;)

Yes, I have been wrong too. My predictions on how stupid  the ideas of Pet Rocks  and people paying a premium for a Toyota (Lexus) were great examples of my ability to call them. Actually, I think if this system helps someone with a disability keep riding their bike for awhile longer it's a good thing .

This is nothing new, I saw this type of set up in Phoenix, Az in the mid 80's, a disabiled guy was riding an FLHT Classic, he configured it himself, at that time it was rather crude, but it worked! The set up makes all the sense in the world for someone that has leg problems, I am surprised it took this long for someone to market it

Like I said, I have been wrong before -  I never looked at the product as aiding a disabled rider.  Good point.
