I have 3 subscriptions; the bike, Binx's car, and the house. I LOVE XM! I only have XM and MP3's on the bike, and listen to the XM most of the time. At home, we rarley ever listen to CD's anymore. Same in Binx's car. There's a station for EVERYTHING and EVERYONE! I pretty much listen to Classic Vinyl and Deep Tracks. :2vrolijk_21: ;)

Hoist! :coolblue:

Outlaw , channel 12 is pretty good also

Too many freakin commercials for me to even remotely think about paying for it.  If they aren't advertising some product, then they we continually telling me to try listening to one of their other stations!!  If I wanted to listen to another station, I would.  It seems I did- local radio!   FXM

May-haps someone can explain the entire XM / Sirius satellite radio thing to my feeble brain.  This is my perception of the original intent of the service:  Pay significant dinero to a company for the right to listen to radio free of commercials and other blather.  This is my perception of reality:  Pay significant dinero to a merged company (no competition) and listen to significant amounts of commercials and other blather whether you want to or not.

Am I incorrect in my perceptions?  If I have a choice of free FM, or pay satellite with just as many commercials and interuptions, I think I'll stick with FM,CD's, and MP3's.  Besides, I don't want to encourage anyone to launch more space junk that we'll just have to pay to clean up in the future.  I just knew when those damned Russkies launched that sputnik it was a very bad idea that was going to come back to haunt us.

Jerry, I don't know what stations he's talking about, but I basically only listen to music stations. There are no commercials on those channels. They DO have DJ's that BS some. And they DO mention other XM Channels for you to try, or upcoming XM events. But for the most part it's mostly music. No product commercials at all. I love it! :2vrolijk_21:

That's the impression it had with me about four years ago Jerry.  Had used XM for a couple years.  Started out ok and wasn't even that terribly expensive.  Rates went up along with amount of commercials (self supporting commercials mostly at that) and lots of general blather about nothing.  It was worse than a bike specific website.  I cancelled the subscription then and haven't been tempted since.  Sounds like it's only gotten worse.

I can punch in a station to get a particular type of music (Blues, Traditional Country (not that 'new country' chit), Trad. Jazz, Standards, J. Buffett or Elvis or Grateful Dead, etc., etc. and hear that music pretty much w/o any interruptions and w/o having to change channels as I travel and out run the signal.  Hell, the Blues channel and Jazz channel are worth it to me as you have trouble when traveling in picking up anything except top 40 stuff. Where else can you tune into Bluegrass picking & grinning to put you in the mood to ride the Dragon except XM?  And never have to mess with changing cd's.  I love it.  ;) har!  :drink: spyder

Someone on this site introduced us to "Pandora", don't remember who it was but Thank You. Free is always good. Works good on the bike as long as AT&T(that is waht we have) cell phone coverage is good. Terry has a bunch of there songs downloaded also. So there is always music blasting from Terry's bike. :2vrolijk_21: ;D

I just activated XM in a new GMC and also in a second car, nadda on the scooter. No problems so far with these two services.

You can try these avenues if you really get the run-around from the outsourced, script reading dingleberry heads:

"you may communicate with any of our outside directors as a group or individually by sending an e-mail to nonmgmtdirectors@sirius-radio.com. You may also write to any of the outside directors in c/o Patrick L. Donnelly, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Sirius XM Radio Inc., 1221 Avenue of the Americas, New York, New York 10020. If your question or concern is related to products, service or your SIRIUS XM Radio account, please email our Customer Care team at customercare@sirius-radio.com or call at 1.888.539.SIRIUS (7474)."

There's also the Atty Gen of your individual state and or District Atty office, etc.

Go get them.  :2vrolijk_21:

Like I said, I WAS very happy with xm for several years. Since the merger things have changed. There are other choices so I am fine without XM

Just called to cancel my subscription. No offer to give me a better deal since I cannot use the service year'round. My trial was only valid during the winter so I really didn't get to use the full potential of the 665. Gps works fine though. SXM looses another one.

I have three XM radio subscriptions...  One for my Zumo, one for a radio in my shop and one in my wife's Tahoe.

The radio in the shop stopped working a month or so ago.  The Tahoe was sold last Saturday...

So I go to the XM on line site to cancel two of my three subscriptions.  And I can find no possible way to cancel a subscription on line.  I come to the conclusion you can do any XM task imaginable on line - except cancel a subscription.

I call XM...  and get an automated (English speaking) voice. To start the process - I need to give them my account number - which I do - which leads to another automated (English speaking) voice, giving me a selection of choices.  I decide to hit "0" - and go straight to a human (although this description soon becomes debatable).   After the obligatory wait, I speak to someone (from a land far far away) - who needs my name, phone number, address with zip, email address and XM account number.  I give this information and explain I want to cancel two of my three subscriptions.  She asks me why I want to cancel the two subscriptions.  I am patient and tell her - subscription #1 - sold the vehicle, subscription #2 - radio no longer works.  She offers to sell me a new radio at a special low price of.....  I interrupt her and tell her I just want to cancel the subscriptions - not buy a new radio.  She wants to know why I don't want a new radio.  I tell her to just cancel the subscriptions...   She tells me she needs to forward my call to another department - as she does have the ability to cancel subscriptions.

A new person comes on the line (from a land far far away) who needs..............my name, phone number, address with zip, email address and XM account number.

I give the information - again - and again explain I want to cancel two subscriptions - and I tell her which subscriptions.  She wants to know why I'm thinking of canceling these subscriptions.   I am uncharacteristically still patient and tell her - once again - subscription #1 - sold the vehicle, subscription #2 - radio no longer works - and add that I am not "thinking" of canceling the subscriptions - I have called to cancel the subscriptions - hence the reason we are now speaking.....

The next thing she tells me is she is going to ship me a new radio to replace the broken radio for the special low price of--------I interrupt her and tell her I don't want another radio - I only want her to cancel the $@^$ subscription.

(At this point, I tell myself this is probably partially my fault - because I made the conscious decision to cancel these subscriptions knowing full well it is a Monday and knowing full well my patience is generally in very short supply on the best Mondays.....and I take a deep breath...)

Then she tells me she will put these two subscriptions on hold for two months - to give me a chance to change my mind...  No longer patient - I very loudly and somewhat crudely explain - subscription #1 - sold the vehicle, subscription #2 - radio no longer works!!!  - and even if I wanted to change my mind - the vehicle is now on a used car lot and the radio is at a landfill somewhere - so just cancel the #$^ %!$# subscriptions...

She tells me there is no need to raise my voice....that she is only trying to provide a service to me...  I tell her that if she says anything further other than "thank you - I will take care of your request immediately" that I will come to whatever country she lives in, find her and very personally explain what I need done to my account...

She says "I will cancel your two subscriptions immediately".  and then adds "Would you like to upgrade the services of your remaining account to include......"

At which point I hung up the phone - which turns out to possibly have been a hasty decision - because I am now left with this urge to yell at someone and spew additional vulgarities...    :sauer005: :sauer005: :sauer005:

What to do????  :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

With 200+ songs on a disc, Ipods and Iphone for in the Jeep and on the bike, computer radio in the garage and house...I don't need no stinkin' sat radio.
Even though xm and sirius are virtually one...no deal on more than one subscription....so I bought the 660!

Wait....I canceled the Service in my work truck  Seemed kind of expensive for the amount of time I listened to it.  Same run around.  Then they billed my CC anyway.  After talking to my CC company.  They said that it happens all the time.  They went after them and got the charge back.  Wait for it..... They tried to bill me again for the service two months later.  The CC company took care of it again and then blocked charges from them..  Feeling your XM pain.
