You might talk to them again.  I don't know the part number, Jim ordered them for me.......maybe he'll be along here and post the part number.

I think I'd look for another dealership.  How would he replace the bolt if it broke or stripped out?  They've been building the 10 MY for about eight months now. :nixweiss:

I may have misunderstood you.  You get the bolts then send them to the chrome shop, they don't come chromed. :2vrolijk_21:

$200 for the pair.  By the way, bolts are on order.....they'll be chromed also. :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks, that sounds pretty reasonable !

Here you can see how the back of the pad looks where it meets the top of the tour pack.

Hey JCZ,

Very nice mods and great looking bike!  Just so you know, a buddy of mine did a similar thing and used little black plugs to fill the holes which made them hardly noticeable.  Not satisfied he removed them, spray painted them to match and reinstalled them and now they are practically invisible.  Also, I removed the black protective tape from the TP lid, behind the passenger back pad by heating them up with no damage to the paint... You would never know that the tape was ever there.  Just thought I would mention that.

Awesome looking ride you've got there.

Is there anything special about these bolts, other than they have a 12pt head?
I didn't see a grade mark on them ... why can't you just replace them with 12pt equivalents in chrome?

d00d - thoughts?
hd-dude - anything special here?

Yeah ... brake caliper bolts.
I can score 12pt bolts locally in chrome so was wondering if there is something proprietary about them that forces me to have the stock ones chromed. Haven't pulled mine off yet to check thread pitch. Anything about the size or pitch special that you know of?

They are metric but do not know the pitch off the top of my head. I can check when back at the shop tomorrow.

Figures ... I can only get SAE locally  :(
Makes sense now why they need to be sent out, I can't find 12 point chrome metric bolts anywhere.

If you get a chance I'd appreciate any info you can provide.
