ONE MORE TIME

OMT

I personally think the sold colors look better than the stripes that some are having painted... including the tour pack....

you know what they say '' less is more ''

Doesn't matter to you!  Some of us haven't cut yet and are anxious for data.

I had them out in the wind today with one open and one closed and yes there is a difference when under way. I'm not sure how they will work when stopped in hot weather though. I'd like to keep these guys on all year, but so far it looks like they might have to come off when it gets real hot around here. So I guess you could say they will stay on the better part of the year now.  Doc

Don't worry Crusty, knothead is talking to me here, just trying to push a button. Yes, I will have a picture very soon of lowers for the yellow SERG. And one of a TP.
If you buy the lowers/painted from HD that pewter is what you get

Check out Terry's phone in #152.  You gotta love a guy with an ORANGE phone.  Hey, how would that look with a black receiver sitting in the orange cradle?

I had lowers on my 04 SEEG and loved them year round. And they weren't even vented. Put a custom set of tins on the SEEG with vented lowers and they we more enjoyable to have a little control (control freak)  :-\ I would like to do it again on the SERG3 but really don't want to relocate the fairing up higher in the rear. Larry and others seem to have the old RG lowers and they look pretty good, is there that much difference between the RG lowers and the EG non-vented lowers? Does anyone think it is well worth the extra work/cost to install the new fairing mounts so you can use the vented lowers? I want to put lowers on, but not sure what direction to I want to go. I seen the pic that Hawg Sound posted showing the relocated stripe and from that angle it appeared to be noticeable higher. But so does this pic and mine hasn't been lifted. Your thoughts Please!!!

I guess that the new-style vented lowers will bring the best cooloing result for the engine , i guess that they will cool down better than the vented old-style ones , because the vent is bigger .

whether the EG vented lowers cool better than the RG non-vented with the AM vents cut into them I can't say.
what I can say is that the RG non vented with vents do cool it down enough that I can run my lowers all year long and the motor gets all the air it needs, and I can close them in the winter.

I think your experience with this set up counts a lot on this thread, and the reason I cut mine. That little bit of chrome on the lowers looks good too. Thanks for posting, at least we can get a good overview on whats available out there and make a choice. I love this website !!

Seems to me that the motor will get more air channelled into it with the use of lowers. The whole idea of vents is for rider comfort.
Next observation, So many of the lowers I see with speakers have done so with a custom box, Is it not possible to add a HD glove box to the lowers and alter it to suit a speaker set up?
