Not sure Don but I would guess a heavy 1/16" was removed.

That's the amount cut (reamed) out of the 2009 chrome "reach" MOCO bars when I installed the Demons in them.

@ Twolanerider : You have doubt about the bar is getting too thin maybe when drilled out the necessary material ?

No I don't.  From everything described so far this is nothing I'd worry about.

Think about it like this.  The bars have the same outside diameter they've always had.  You're increasing the inside diameter only to what it's always been for years and years.  I'm reading nothing I'd be concerned about.

Now i received this e-mail from symntec :

Hello Klaus,

I have made and error in the part I quoted you.  Our discussion of the 1 1/4" bar on your Road Glide made me realize that you must have the switch for the Chubby Bar and also the Electronic throttle. The P/N for this one is 210045CETCHUB.  This is the chrome switch and also the correct throttle side heater for  the Electronic throttle unit. I must also correct the price, This model is $149.95 and the shipping is $29.75,  I'm sorry for the misquote, I forgot match the correct model with your CVO Road Glide bar.

You will have to bore out the bar on the right side to .875" x 6'

"Chubby" is what a company called Wild1 calls their 1.25" handlebars.  Bigger around so they call them chubby.  Symtec made a different switch housing just for those bigger bars.  You don't need it though.  The SE Road Glides use a handlebar that is only 1" in diameter.

Thank you very much , i was hesitating because Roger from Symntec changed his mind and wants me to buy the version for these 1,25"  chubby bars , The SERG definitely has a 1" bar , Now i know for sure .  :2vrolijk_21:
( and Roger from Symntec is wrong and i do need the 210045 CET version)

You should let him know that the SE Road Glides have 1" diameter bars.  Since some of the current CVO bikes have the larger diameter bars Symtec has mistakenly come to believe the SERGs do also.  Advising them otherwise will save someone later from unnecessarily buying the wrong parts.

I just ordered the heat demon part # 210045CET chrome 1" set with left hand controller.  I'm going to do the install when I change out my handlebars to the Wild Ones 517 chubby mini apes.

I know I'll have to ream out the left bar to 7/8 X 6 deep.  The main problem I forsee is the rerouting of the brake line.  Other people have done this bar swap and said that the re-rout of the brake line was the only real problem.  I've asked before about where/how the line was rerouted but never got a clear answer or saw any pics. :nixweiss:

I'll start a new thread when I tackle this with step by step pictorial history so others may find this swap easier. :orange:
