I guess its time to introduce myself and start posting. I've been lurking around here for a couple of months now and registered a couple of weeks ago. My name is Chris and I live in Washington State about 35 miles north of Seattle. I don't own a CVO bike but I bought a new 2005 Road King Custom from a dealer in April 2005 and had a 103" "CVO type" kit put in it before I even brought it home. That meant it would stay under the MOCO's warrantee for the next two years. Well almost two years have gone by and I have around 6500 miles on it and have been pretty satisified with the performance of the 103. I know quite a few people with stock 88s and a couple with the 95" kits. The 95s seemed to have more power and torque than my 103 so after doing some research, I decided to go with some parts from Zippers which included the Redshift TC575 gear cams, 50mm throttle body and manifold Fueling oil pump, Zippers pushrods and some D&D Fatcats with the BB baffle and of course the Thundermax ECM. I spoke with Pete from Zippers and he was great. He set me up with all the parts and special TC tools that I would need for the job. I installed all of these parts about a week and half ago and put on about 600 miles and all seems good. That combo puts it right where I want it to be. Seat of the pants "WOW". The gear driven cams seem to have a slight whine to them and a slight ticking, but its nothing that I can't live with. Which brings me to my handle of rigid103. I have been riding bikes for my whole life (but always wanted a Harley) and ten years ago my father passed away and left me his 1972 rigid frame 74" chopper which was built using all different year parts and pieces. That is what I learned on. Now it has an S&S 103" longblock 10.5:1 compression 3" Primo open belt drive kick start only, no comp releases. And while learning I met a machine shop owner who had a modified dragbike in the AHDRA. I went to the races and helped him out one time and was hooked. Two years later we were racing a 195" injected nitro top fuel bike. So a little gear whine and valvetrain ticking is really no big deal. Just ride it and enjoy it. Thats about it for now. I will post more in the TwinCam section as I am interested in the closed loop system.
Glad to be here and will post some pics when I can.
Chris
