welcome back Dlaw's and thanks for your service :)

We were looking at doing alot of upgrades to her bike.  Lockable hardbags, pipes, stage 1, music/radio..etc

We saw the Blue CVO Convertable at the dealer a couple of months ago but did not really think about it.  Then one day sitting down and looking over what we want to do, she mentioned the CVO had it all.  Plus it has ABS/Cruise which she needs with carpel tunnel.  Looking over the prices it just made it easier.  Plus the fact we got a great deal from our local dealer, helps to buy in middle winter and bike been there for 2 months.

It was her birthday present.   :bananarock:

My road get;s shorter every year,so while I am in good health and after owning 6 bikes since 1999 I knew now was the time for the CVO. My wife rides with me 95 % of the time and we do a lot of trips with our HOG chapter. I was the same way a lot of you are why pour a lot of money in a bike and never get it back when trading or selling it. I am older then most of you and was able to pay cash for it. I know if need be I can always get what i had to pay after trading my 08 SG I would not lose much if any. I have not had a chance to ride it yet 6ft of snow but spring is comming. I am 72 years old.

13 pages of good reasons to spend big$.

I have a FLHRC from 09 with the 103 blah blah......................... and love it. While riding the OB of NC I saw the Yellow Fatbob from 09 and told them since it was 2010 they needed to make room on the floor for the 11's. They agreed and I told them I'd put it on the master card right now for 22k flat. They went on about losing money saying they could not lose money on the bike and I corrected them saying they surely could and it was a matter of how much loss and time they wanted to keep in the bike. They harassed me for two hours while waiting on buddies bike in the shop. We drove off.

Two weeks later they told me to come and pick it up. I did have to pay sales tax in TN but I got a beautiful bike for a good price. I already have a bagger so I was thinking of a hot rod bike. The color and beefy front end coupled with the 110 motor and the full on chrome was exactly what I was looking for.

The wife has an 09 Deluxe with custom paint and a new 11 FLHX blacked out. Now I am lusting for the SERG. F--k me. :nervous: We are Harley nuts and I am hoping they make a nice color in 2013, if I can hold out that long.

It was to reward myself for spending 44 long a$$ months in hell in Afghanistan.

Thanks for your service!

In '08 I walked into my local Harley dealer and saw the best looking bike I've ever seen...but no way could I afford it. I put it out of my mind until this summer and when I went back in to the dealer, there it was! I thought it must have been used but it was actually the last of four 105th Anniversary Scremin' Eagle Dynas that they had and it was marked down considerably. The wife said I looked good on it so that was all I needed. :cucumber:

Was riding with some friends on a weekend trip about 500 miles round trip. i was riding a 1981 Kawasaki KZ440ltd it being as small as i am i could keep up with the other bikes due to only weighing a buck 40 soaking wet and riding the hell outta that bake. but i felt as if i was on the outside looking in on these guys all riding Harley's. on our trip back home about 10 miles from the hotel one of the guys blew a head gasket lucky for us it was right in front of the local Harley dealer but seeing as how it was 7am on a sunday morning the place wasn't open so waiting for the chase vehicle to get a u haul trailer i was peering through the windows at the dealership. the guy going to get the trailer must of gotten lost and to say the least the dealership opened before he returned so i searched the showroom for my dream bike was looking for something with no chrome and big motor found a few that didn't really fit my fancy. once back home the next day i went to the local dealer walked in and the first bike i saw i about snapped my neck with the double take. it was a 2003 FXSTDSE that day i put 300 dollars down and got the loan and picked it up that Friday and have been in love with it ever since. funny how i wanted a bike with no chrome and end up getting one of the most chromed out bikes on the showroom how ironic

Because I could.  It's a simple as that.  Sometimes the stars align and luck smiles on you.  It's those times in life that make it all worthwhile.

By accident!! I had ridden a Wide-Glide for 6 years and was looking for something a little different. The wife had traded her Sporty for a Deuce and that gave me some leverage! I had expressed my desire for a Springer and was told that H-D was no longer producing them (This was in 07). We went to a H.O.G. meeting and the GM at the dealership was raving about the '08 bikes he had seen at the Dealer Show. He looked right at me and said "They have an Orange Softail Springer that is to die for!! We went downstairs and they had a brochure with the head on view. the salesman said they had one coming and we put a deposit on it immediately. Up until that time I had no real clue about the CVO line! 3 and a half years later and nothing pulls my chain like my Springer even with the problems I've had. When I get old enough I'll consider a Convertible. I'm only 64 going on 35 and having to much fun showing off!!
Also 10 months later the wife traded the Deuce for her Black 08 Springer!
