Torn between bags
« on: September 15, 2009, 09:33:03 PM »

08 SERK....

Torn between what to do with bags.... I just had my Corbin Solo done in Alligator...  I want to get the top's of my leather bags done in Alligator as well,  but the leather shop said not to,  as it will ruin the CVO worth of the bags..

Went to harley,  and you can not order the top/lids of the bags seperatly....

So either recover mine,  or get some used hard bags and have those covered in leather...  I have never seen any bike with leather covered hard bags.  Anyone?????

The shop has two scraped up hard bags,  which she will do in Alligator for $1400,  or cover the tops of mine for $400.00

Thoughs,  comments,  pictures????

Hi Scott

I'd put on the hard bags. I've seen the Harley leather covers on lids before. So, as usual, I'd go the expensive route. Besides, if / when you sell the SERK, put the stock stuff back on, can keep your seat and sell the bags on ebay. JMHO

What about buying a set of used Road King Custom bags and having those recovered?   :nixweiss:

Go ahead and cover your bags the way you want to.  Did you buy your bike for yourself to ride and enjoy it the way you like, or did you buy it so you could keep it nice-nice factory stock for the next owner?
