I had stopped for gas after crossing into Penn. and there were 2 guys getting gas behind me in a cage.
The older guy had the nice bike comment.  I had the mouthfull of cheese & crackers going so I just smiled and nodded.

Then he saw the MASS plate and asked if I rode in from MASS.
I told him no I was on the way back.
He asked from where and I told him I left from Maggie Valley NC that morning.
It was 12:23 so he asked what time I left.
I told him 4AM at which point his friend  :puke:
Spit out the coffee he was drinking  ;D

Congrats Steve. Tough ride, especially solo.

That GPS difference is probably the GPS anomaly with tracking. Not unusual to lose the signal. Same thing that gives you max speeds in excess of 300 mph.

Download your track and look at it and you will probably see the dips and such.

Congratulations on a great day ride Steve.  Only an hour-20 off the bike in a day that many hours long is making some time.  Nicely done.

Don't remember; still stock seat and handlebars?  If your ass wasn't complaining you must get along with whatever seat you're using.  If still using the stock bars I can remember them killing my shoulders and, over time, everything attached to my shoulders on longer days.  If you've got some longer days in the future a different set of bars can make a big difference.

Once again congrats on a good ride :2vrolijk_21: .

changed the seat at the start of the season.  Sunray heated seat.
still the stock bars.
That will be the winter project and will add heated grips at the same time.

I and a lot of others have used the 575 bars from Wild1.  They look good.  But more importantly they feel good.  Great improvement for that pain in the shoulders and back.

A guy around here had a used set he was intending to sell a few months ago.  They'd been on his Ultra before he went to some stupid looking ape thing.  I'll see if he still has them and let you know.
