Did the Toy Run today without any mishaps, roughly 5000 bikes.  So we go to Crab Shack and I'm barely moving over a speed bump and the damn thing pulled my jiffy stand spring off.  Straightened the hook that goes under the frame.

Told Crab Shack to cut a slot in the bump.

Anyone have this happen?

Never bent the spring but lost a ride bell in Durango on a speed bump. Pi__ed me off and didn't go back.

The lesson is to use 103's trailer.  It won't bust your kick stand.

Have had that happen several times, especially when we rode the Baja Peninsula a few years ago. There were f@@king Topes (speed bumps) everywhere! Some of them looked like landmines, about 6 inches in diameter, 6 inches high & 2 inches between them, no way to avoid scraping boards etc. Everybody was breaking springs, not just my SE. I find if you take speed bumps etc at an angle, you won't have as much of a problem.

[Channeling JCZ here:]  First, you should have sold everything you couldn't put in a saddle bag--no need for the truck.

Then you ride the first bike to your new hometown, fly back to the old home, and ride the second bike to your destination.

I mean, well, it was possible.
