Mountain Boss Hoss-Somerset, Pa..
« on: October 13, 2009, 06:54:06 PM »

Rode over with a riding buddy to look at Boss Hoss's (for him).  This red 2008 with 6500 miles caught his eye.

The salesman test rode this leftover new 2008 on our 60 mile test ride on Rte's 30 and 31 east of Somerset in the Highland Valley.  Beautiful roads and riding area.

Your friend doesn't look very tall. Is he able to get his feet on the ground when he rides the Boss ?

Those guys at Mountain Boss Hoss are a class act!!! I have been visiting them for about 8 yearsnow at Bikeweek and their products and support are top notch!!

I was going to add one of those to my "bucket list" but now I have a 2010 CVO Street Glide........

I hope he enjoys his new ride.

Yes he is vertically challenged for sure.  He has "LMS" I guess and needs a "Big" bike.   :)   They slid the front fork sliders up 1" in the triple trees and helped a lot.  He is not flat footed but is close.   So far, not an issue.

Thanks for the well wishes.  They are not for everyone but definitely a conservation piece.  Regarding Mountain Boss Hoss, they are probably the best dealer they have.  They had four 502 bikes to be serviced and 3 were from Florida and one from Maryland.

Anybody ever shopping for a Hoss new or used, you will find that all BH's are not created equal as Mountain and a few other dealers really make them unique in the way THEY build them to their standards after getting them from theBH factory.  The factory build is really half ass.

I have a friend here in town that is a dealer for Boss Hoss. I have ridden a
couple of the 350 engine bikes. Very smooth going down the road and powerful.
You really don't feel the 1100lb weight of this bike, well balanced ride.

Then I got on a 502 big block with 500hp and what a monster!!!!!
1300lb weight and you felt it. lights up the back tire with a flick
of the wrist. This is the ONLY bike I have ridden that truely scared
me. IMO it is to big, to heavy, and well you can never have to much
power. And did I say it is a monster?

Unless things have changed they have tranny trouble with about all of
them, and they have to unbolt the frame and split the bike in half to
service the tranny. Great looking bike but reliability issues. On second
thought they are just like a Harley. :2vrolijk_21:
