Rsanz in Spain needs some help
« on: October 17, 2009, 01:58:08 AM »

Hey guys,

New member Richard (rsanz from Spain) needs some advice. I'm sort of acting as a translator, although my Spanish is pretty rusty. He has a 2008 FLHRSE. From what I gather it is pretty stock except for Rinehart Slip Ons, SE Air filter and the SE Pro Race Tuner. He is running MAP 84 and is not sure if it is the correct one. He says the bike runs okay except for hard starting. I don't think the bike was ever dyno tuned.

Given his build and parameters, do you guys have any other MAP recomendations or suggestions for him?

Thanks,

Mark

He should start with a map called 205UJ00x
x depending on which supetuner version he has.

Let him check that the compression releases are ENABLED

Is there a way to check the automatic compression releases with the SEST hooked up to the bike via the computer?
Also, why did you suggest that MAP instead? I'd like to know before I e-mail him.

Thanks

We need to know if he has a cable operated throttle or 'throttle by wire' electronic throttle.

Ractuner map 84, name S176QF002,  is for 2007 110ci 1800cc CVO touring. 2007 is cable operated throttle.

Modelyear 2008 has electronic throttle control:
With Racetuner he needs to start with :
nr.: 105  name:  200UJ001         HDI 1800 CVO SE   A/C & Race Exhaust

With Supertuner: 205UJ00x.
With the latest Supertuner version it's 205UJ004
Application: 2008 - 2009 'All Market' Touring Exhaust with O2 Sensors
Configuration: 1800 SE A/C & Race Exhaust
ACR's and Active Exhaust can be enabled/disabled under tuning constants.

With electronic throttle bikes always check that active exhaust works as you programmed it!
Lot's of these bikes have exhaust disabled in closed position. Not good.

Well I'm thinking that since it's a 2008 is should have throttle by wire unless the European bikes are different. I'll suggest the other MAP and ask him to check the ACRs.

Thanks

The strange thing is that he told you he is using the 84 map (racetuner?), but a 2007 map will not program into a 2008 touring bike.... therefor we first need to be sure what model year.

Or he can use this HD site to find out, fill in VIN number and mileage:

Well I heard back from him. He said the ACRs were NOT activated. The changes were made and all is well now.
Thanks for all the help.
