Greetings,
Sorry if this is redundant. I used the search feature and didn't seem to get a good response. BSR "had" to have a tour pak so I bought the new for 2009 removable rack for the 2009 S/E Roadglide. Now the box seems to intrude into the BSR space by a significant amount. I like boobs in the back as well as the next guy but I'm getting nipple divots in my back and she can't breath. Destructions say that the box is adjustable but there is only one set of holes as far as I can tell. Anyone got any answers??
I don't mind buying the relo mount from George Anderson, I think that's his name, but I already have to buy a new seat since HD is never going to make right on the crappy seat that came with the bike. I love my S/E but I miss the chit out of my 2003 Roadglide.
Thanks,
SteveM
Steve,
On my new '09 SERG, I bought the two up mounting rack and the 4-point docking brackets. I got the rack and the chopped tour pak home and did the mounting myself.
The instructions were not the best, but I found tat my chrome rack fit inside the lowered pattern on the bottom of the chopped tour pak. I moved my tour pak back about two inches and redrilled new holes through the metal bottom panel inside the tour pak. This give my wife plenty of boob room, and she needs a bit of room there if you know what I mean.... With the original BSR back rest, she was pushed forward quite a bit and we did ride that way for about 5 weeks until the chopped tour pak came in. She loves the added room and also likes the added support from the tour pak back rest over the shorter BSR back rest.
On my '08 SERK, I bought the chrome "U" loop from Kury to relocate the tour pak back on that as well. Again she loved the extra room.
I'm not what others have for the mounting rack, but mine came from the '09 P&A catalog at the dealership.
Good luck and I hope this helps you out. I don't have pictures of the mounting, but I'm sure I could take a couple and post them if you're still having problems.
