Hi,
Can anyone direct me on the removal of the tour pac on my 2008 SE Ultra Classic with a detachable kit.
I really would appreciate where to start with this.
Thanks

Just spoke with George on the phone...you couldn't ask for a nicer guy to deal with.  My relocation plate is on it's way.  Appreciate the lead...

Super looking part, never had to use a bracket before on older bikes, always re drilled.  Is everyone nervous about re drilling the mounting holes to move their tour pack back or is there an issue with the 09 &10 bracket.

The relocation plate to move my tour pack back...there are pics in earlier posts on this thread.  You're going to need several parts to make your tour pack detachable.  I'm currently in the process of doing that.  I'll PM you a list when I know what all it entails.

On my 10, there was enough wiring to move back the full 2 1/2" with no problems.

Is the amp attached to the tourpack and does it have to be moved at all to install the bracket, or does it stay in a stationary position throughout the install?

After looking at the photos of the install of another bracket that I posted about tonight, I suddenly see how easy this one must be to install.  Assuming I find out that the amp doesn't get moved, this looks to be much more straightforward than I originally thought it was.

The amp is not moved or touched.   It stays in it's original location.   You don't even unhook any wiring.   Relocator is a 1st class product as is it's maker George.

I guess I just never really looked at the amp to see how it was actually mounted before.  I did take a look at it last night and now I can see that there is nothing to it to mount the relocator.  I had always been under the impression that the amp had to be removed also and it just seemed like this would be a lot of work.  I'm clear on this concept now.  Thanks.

Spoke with George today, as I have the SERG 09 with chopped box. He said it would work and sent it out today before he even received my $175 check. Class guy.

Caution, the relocation kit WILL NOT work on a chop tour pack because of the base molding build into the box. I, know this because on my 09 SERG I ordered one and it does not work. I will either sell it or keep it for my next bike. Have not discussed returning it to George as it was my mistake. I saw the solution on this blog and ordered not. George does not have a computer or phone that has picture capabilities, so I will send him a picture of the problem. We spoke several times by phone and he did not understand my problem--simply stated it fits standard King Tour packs but NOT chop box. Buyer beware.
