I got on my bike today and when I drove down the driveway the Fatboy took me to the dealership. I really can't explain that but I guess that's just the place I need to go. Being Sunday most of the Management was off but Gerald one of the salesmen told me that the son of Jim (HOG Member) that was killed yesterday came by looking for some answers. Gerald said it was very sad that the son came just to ask how did my dad find out about the ride. Sorry to say the son left just before I got there or I could have told him that his dad was on a ride to honor his own, see Jim was a very proud Vet that had 2 Vet patches on his vest. No other detail are out yet but I really hope that the PGR's are invited because being a PGR I can't think of a better way to honor Jim. I will keep everyone posted, again thank you all for your support and prayers.

Sorry for your loss of a freind, I know that feeling you have right now, have had to go thru this myself and I can assure you, its not an easy thing to go thru. I think someone on this thread mentioned to talk to whoever you need to about this ?, or maybe contact them on here if you so wanted?.

I would say that was some very good advice imo. '

I've also have heard a lot, here and elsewhere "that we all love riding and all accept the risks that come along with it, as a package deal." I keep that in my head and respect what it means everytime I step on my scooter a lot more now.  Take care, and again, My condolences.

I stopped at the dealership last night on my way home from work to see if anyone had any information on Jim. Our Chapter Director met with Jim's son Robert. There will be a private viewing this morning for family and the body will be cremated right after. The family wants to have a Memorial Service with friends and the Chapter this Saturday afternoon. We have what I think is a large Chapter so I think we will really pack that place. Again I want to thank all you guys for your PM to me, I and the Chapter will get through this and I know we will become closer. You guys are the best. Thanks Again

All the details have been worked out with the family and the good news is PGR's has been invited to honor Jim on Saturday. My guess is that with being late in the season and being on a Saturday I hope to have a big showing, Jim would like that. Being a PGR I can't think of a better way to honor him then to stand in a flag line to honor one of my HOG Brothers. Jim RIP my friend and GOD Bless.

Make Jim proud! As many of you are, I to am a proud PGR member and it is Veterans like Jim that need our support. I speak for myself, but days like Chris will have Saturday drain my emotionally. Have a safe day Chris and know you have our support if ever needed.  Dave

I got to Honor Jim in a very special way on Saturday. As I was hoping the family requested the services of the PGR's. Jim was a good man, and the family ask to talk to someone that was on the ride and seen what happened. So that was me, they had many questions some I could answer and some I could not. The one that really got to me was his sister ask if Jim was along when he died. I told with a little smile that there was over 60 bikes on the ride and he had over 60 Brothers and Sister with him. I explained that when you are a member of a HOG Chapter that becomes apart of your family. That put a very big smile on her face. He had a very nice family that loved having us there. And I can tell you that it really helped me to Honor Jim and Thank him for his years of service in a very special way.

The one thing that I would ask of everyone on this board is to put ICE (In Case of Emergency) into your cel. phones. Jim did not have any numbers in his phone that could help in contacting his family and it took over 5 hours to notify them. Please put in your Wife, Girl friend or both but please add this to your phone now.

i've done this and also put a # [1] [2], etc behind the ICE. hopefully the medics will take this as which # to call 1st/2nd/3rd. might help the call get thru sooner.
