I love the way they sound, but I am one to favor bark in the pipes. They make an ~3db down baffle for the more faint at heart. I hear they are more suited to making power in the upper range. I won't know until I get it on a dyno in about 3-4 weeks. Winter sux.

I'm going with a TTS Mastertune.

yup, dual dressers, hi output slip ons and a TTS, thats what I am leaning toward. so you are gonna get it dyno'd verses using the Autotune feature? i will have to check out that baffle as well. maybe do a comparison on sound and power

thanx so much!

I've been told by both my dealer and the bike shop that is doing the work for me, that if you go with the PC V w/ auto tuner, there is no need to dyno the bike.  That is the purpose of the auto tuner...

You need to be careful when you dyno a new bike, not many guys now how to do it correctly and can do significant damage to a new engine if they're not careful.  You better really trust the guy running the dyno if you're going that route.

My engine was broken in on the trip home with it  ;)
Actually ... it was broken in within the first 50 miles.

sorry mine are 4 1/2 in , i just had  to put my glasses on,.... what's up with v/h fuelpak is it any good, i  was thinking of getting the fuelpak and the v/h x pipe, anyone got any experice with the whole v/h set up?

I've used it and wouldn't buy it again the Power commander is not much better unless you get the Autotune.

I'm going with the Screaming Eagle Race tuner The factory ECM is perfactly capable if programmed properly. The TTS (old SERT) or New SERT is the best way to go.

Among other potential issues the FuelPak and the Power Commander take up a lot of extra room and add another potential point of failure.

If its going to blow under stress better early under warranty than when your halfway to Sturgis?

You hear a lot of Dyno Stress concerns personally if my engine isn't right I'd rather find out in the dealership than on the road.

Have you watched them Dyno a bike before :o  There's no way that can be good on a brand new engine.  I agree, an engine can blow under stress, but you're not going to pick you bike up and hit the blower to Sturgis straight from there are you?

I still think that PC has the right idea with the Auto Tune system.  If it works, then the bikes engine should operate as it was intended and with a good break in period you should have good performance and an engine that will be reliable.

There's a lot of evidence that shows performance and reliability can be decreased depending on how the motor is broken in (easy).
Very good article here, it's how I've done all my motors and never had an issue:

Great article, thanks for sharing.  I'm definitely running this one by my guys at Pokerville and get their take.  I know they agree with breaking in with regular oil, as well as dumping the transmission oil immediately and replacing with a thicker product.

Hypothetically, it is how I would have broken in my motor on the new SESG.
Of course, doing that method and stating so in writing could be used (if found) to void any warranty should an engine problem arise in the next 2 years.

So HYPOTHETICALLY - this is how a motor should be broken in.

Hypothetically, I will now have to ponder breaking in my SESG the same way. Man there are a plethora of varying opinions on this one.........

Good article I have always been a firm believer in riding it hard out of the box. Broke all my bikes in this way never had an issue.
There may be something to those "Ride it like you stole it" T-shirts?
