Interesting dilemma...  :drink:

I have an 06 Ultra CVO & an 09 Ultra (actually the 09 is Trudys).  If I could put the two together it would be a great MC.  We love the CVO, but the 09 Ultra rides & handles so much better.  So if I only had the Ultra, was only going to have one MC I would trade them all in for the 10 CVO.

I had a similiar situation & still have it.  I have an 03 Sportster 1200 Custom with $17k invested in it.  I chose to keep it cause I loved riding it.  So the last 3 years it has gotten a total of about 4k miles, broken down by year 3300, 500, 200, guess you see my point.  The CVO wins the which one will I ride question every time.

And on top of that I could have traded it in or sold it 3 years ago, now no one is interested in it even at $5900.

Good luck with your decision.

jg,
First off welcome to the site when you get a chance you should go to this board - New Member Introduction and start a thread to introduce yourself.

Sounds like you've already sold yourself on the '10 SEUC just sounds like you need to decide if you want to keep the softail. If you area already not riding it that much w/your '09 Ultra you are probably going to ride it less when you get the CVO. :nixweiss: Good luck on whatever you decide. :2vrolijk_21:

I think I'd get rid of both of them, but my only question is could you do any better on a private sale?  Obviously they're not giving you high book value so perhaps you could sell them yourself for more?  Anyway you do go for the CVO, you'll never look back.  If I were to have a 2nd Harley I think I would opt for the other end of the spectrum and pick up a good used Sporty or perhaps a V-Rod to play with.  Welcome to the Forum and after introducing yourself be sure and get back to us with your decisions and pictures of your new CVO.

You can't beat the deal they are giving you on the trade.  You'll never be happy with your decision if you don't do it, but on the other hand, if you make the trade you will be grinning from ear to ear.  You don't need a 2nd bike when you have the SEUC, unless of course you want to do some dirt riding, and the Softail isn't the answer for that.  You're in a great position and like someone said, if you wait, you probably won't get as much on trade at a later date.

Trade, Trade, Trade. Get rid of both bikes for the CVO. I will not be the only one saying, "You'll be sorry" if you don't. I think you wouldn't ride the softail as much w/ a CVO in the Garage.IMO...

Might as well trade in both bikes. Once you get the CVO Ultra every thing else will just get dusty anyway. Save on sales tax, registration and insurance.

If you can swing it, financially, I would definitely trade the Ultra on the CVO 'cause there really is no comparison.  However, if you can, hang on to the Softail.

I have a '91 Softail and don't ride it much either, but whenever I do I fall in love with it again.  Ride it on the short rides around town or for a cruise in the country and ride the CVO Ultra on longer rides and trips.

I'm real happy that I was able to hang on to my ol' '91 baby.

Good luck with your decision.

I think Sklywag needs to put "Trade Completed" at the beginning of his post so we quit telling him what to do, now that he has already done it.

Trade both and get a CVO.  You won't be sorry.

Keep the Softail for when the Ultra is in the shop.  Ask me how I know.

Do the double trade for the 2010 SE Ultra. You won't regret it. If you to occasionally need to ride and want less of Touring bike look, make your 2010 SEUC into a convertible SE Ultra/Superglide.

I have a 2009 ultra classic that I have put 7,000 miles on last year. Was really happy with it until I saw a ultra classic cvo at the dealer. It took my breath away. I was wondering if it would be worth trading? The dealer would give me 18 K for my bike and take 19 K difference. I also have a 2006 Softail Classic that I could also trade for 12.5 K but I really like the bike and am having a hard time parting with it. I ride the Ultra most of the time. Was also wondering if I should trade that bike as well and get the cvo for $7,600? Help!

Sold my 06 Heritage Classic retail at 12,500 and traded my 07 Heritage Custom on the 2010 SESG. So 2 for 1 :2vrolijk_21:
Only you can tell but that's a great trade (SMOKIN) in value on the 2 for 1.
If it was me wich it isn't I'd do it. You could always repurchase a softail later for less. 8) should you feel the need

I traded two for one as well, and haven't looked back!

They are offering you a great price, which may not happen later on if the economy goes for a dump again!
