Do you like embroidered shirts?
« on: November 22, 2009, 09:01:37 PM »

I like printed shirts but I think sometimes an embroidered shirt or hat would be nicer.
While looking around and asking some riders where they got their shirts and hats I discovered this website below. Seems to be a great site with many models of Harleys except the CVO lineup. You can custom color a standard model though. I also have an email sent to them to ask about including the CVO lineup. Maybe if enough people ask they will include them?

Cool site! Wish they would do even more customization. Did some work with local folks to get what I wanted on some shirts and jackets. Files available for the asking. You would have to find your own embroiderer. You can choose colors and could have your own bike designation stitched in the bar. Example attached.

I've had great luck with Corbin Magic.

Betsy Corbin and her husband Larry took the Ride Like A Pro West Coast course from me earlier this year. Once I found out they they did custom embroidery work, I started working on a shirt design. Larry does the design via stitch by stich computer, and Betsy does everything else. I got a nice button down shirt to war at rallies and bike shows and it's sharp.

email Betsy at: corbinmagic@sbcglobal.net

She'll work with you too.

I wonder what the heck is going on with businesses today?????

We read all about unemployment and poor sales then when a potential customer tries to give a company a way to increase sales you either get no response or a reply like this (FYI - I had to send a second email just to get a reply from Autumn Riders -this time they replied the same day) :

Frankly it is a matter of time and money to do all those designs.  I would like to but don’t see it happening soon.

In my original email I mentioned the past 10 years of CVO bikes and that maybe expanding their designs to include them would increase sales and that websites such as this one with over 10,000 members would increase interest and in turn sales.
I would think increased sales and advertising would cover the design cost? But I don't own a business, so who knows????

Dave in all honesty I'm not surprised.... hell the MoCo themselves will not offer CVO specific apparel and they have first hand knowledge of how much we spend. :(

Frankly it is a matter of time and money to do all those designs.  I would like to but don’t see it happening soon.

When I had my Ride Like A Pro West Coast shirt done, the longest time was getting all the info into the computer. Once they get the CAD stitch and color design down, the rest is easy. They just plug the stich program into a machine, load the correct colors, and it's all done by machine.

While printed or silk screen looks good for a t-shirt, embroidery makes the shirts look sharper and nicer.

Well I got a second email from Autumn Riders which explains what was going on :

I can appreciate that you are frustrated with me.  The problem is I am now running this business part time – I began teaching 7th grade science in September.  Next summer I will have more time to devote to this and would be glad to work with you on it.  I would need your help to identify the designs and colors.  I am sure, since we have the base models and an excellent digitizer doing our motorcycle designs, that we can do a good job then.

I fully understand what is going on now and that his teaching career needs to come first.
It just fooled me a little with such a professional looking web site and I have seen their work on other rider's shirts and it's great work!

d00d I know what you mean about the MOCO too, I got some run around from the dealer to Jostens Ring Co about an owner's ring for FLTRSE3 owners , The dealer at first said contact the ring co and the ring co said it's a H-D issue, contact your dealer! You would think someone would try to make a sale? My local dealer is doing followup for me with Jostens and MOCO HQ. They seem to think 2010 they will plan for a ring to be made......time will tell I guess?
